I walked around like that from 35 weeks up until 39 weeks when my daughter was finally born! I was on bedrest weeks 35-36 then was able to get up and do whatever. Well, it took two more weeks before labor finally started. So it may not be inevitable. Is your caregiver suggesting bedrest or taking it easy to discourage labor? I took cramp bark weeks 35 and 36 to keep contractions at bay, and ibuprofen on and off as well (under my midwive's supervision).

I had an internal last week at 36wk1day and my midwife just scream "OH MY GOODNESS! WOW!" She scared my husband.
She said that she loves to tell women that their braxton hicks are helping their bodies prepare for labor and showing it. She said she could call me 4cm, but was going to call it 3-3.5 in my chart and 25% effaced. I was about the same with my daughter at this time (she was my first) and she was born the day after her due date. So I am just assuming this one will be similar. Don't worry, your babe will be here soon.
