Help With Excema

My 18 month old son has terrible dry skin and excema on his legs and arms. I know it's from the cold weather, but I just don't know what to do about it. Are there any good lotions or something I can put in his bath? Thanks for your help!

I took my DD to a dermatologist last year for the same thing.

He recommended 2 oil baths a day, with a pure, natural oil like almond, olive, or apricot. She soaked in a dish pail, and I poured water on her back and arms and rubbed in the oil.

After a week, we went to 1 bath a day, then every other day.

Worked like a charm. Now that the cold weather is back, she has VERY dry skin again. I oil bath her as needed.

I am having dry skin issues this winter too - but it's drastically less if any if I keep the humidifier on. I had to get one this year. Drink plenty of fluids and keep your humidifier going. Indoor heat worsens skin and dries all your moist tissues and skin out.
