guessing your EDD using the first time you felt the baby kick

I remember discussing that someones mw said that once you feel the baby kick for certain add so many weeks to that and you will have a very accurate EDD. I looked in the old threads for this and couldn't find it. Based on that ( I wrote it on my calander at the time) my EDD should be Jan 26
Did any one else remeber this?
Did anyone who had their baby find it accurate?

IIRC my MWs said add 5 months. My kick date was around Aug 21 or 22, so my EDD based on that is Jan 21-22, which is pretty right on for the timing of when I O'd. Also they said it should be the beginning of when you feel good strong kicks everyday, not just the first time you feel any kick or movement at all.

That would never work for me. I felt this one rolling around and even DH could see and feel it at 11 weeks. My first one was at 16 weeks.

Using the above method, puts my due date on the early end of the estimates we have, Jan. 13th. I think they mention that method of EDD calc. in Husband Coached Childbirth.
The Ultrasound tech said Jan 19th.
I have no idea how accurate it is, but we will see.

I didn't write this date down, but do remember that around the time of my 18 week u/s was when I was consistently feeling the baby. That would have been August 16th, which puts me right on for the January 17th date that I got from both my 6 week and 18 week u/s.

this one i dont fel 'strongly' much, i think its placenta is right on the front instead of a bit to the side with my son, i feel little kicks on the bottom right and top left about 8 times a day or so the past couple weeks...
anyway with my son, it would have made me due almost 3 months before he was due, lol, with this one, im not sure, but i assume it would make it about 2 months early too since like i said, i feel nothing in the middle of my uterus, just the bottom and top, but my uterus is already just touching my sternum to sit down at right at 15 weeks. talk about weird! LOL

Doesn't seem real acurrate to me. So many variables. Often posterior placentas allow for mama to feel little ones earlier and often 2nd, 3rd, etc...are felt earlier than the first. I felt my little one at 15 weeks, adding 5 months would have made her very early.

I posted the original... my midwife said it happens a lot. Well, my 5 months from feeling the first kick was yesterday, and I'm still pregnant. Good thing, too, since yesterday we were only 36w4d. Baby has dropped though, and last night baby turned anterior.
