New for me

Okay I am almost 39 weeks. I have NEVER been pregnant this long!

So now I am wondering how the heck people go past their due dates!! I am sooo uncomfortable. I am not sleeping well, my pelvis and hips feel like they are going to break in half, I can not breath! I have absolutely no energy. I have been having dh do so much for me adn the kids and I feel bad about it. But heck, taking a shower takes up all my energy!

Come baby come!! I just keep telling myself it could be any time now!

pbreffe, how early were you with your other babies? I know it is hard! I am so uncomfortable (especially at night) too. Baby is incredibly low.

I am also relating to the DH thing. That's actually one of the hardest parts of pregnancy -- remembering that I am doing super duper hard work, too. Growing a human being! Just think of how great you are going to feel when Baby gets here. I think of it almost all the time!

I am only 37 weeks, so I don't really have a complaint coming, but I am eager for my baby, too. I hope we don't have to wait too long!

Trying hard to muster some sympathy for you as I sit here 40w2d. : My mother never made it past 38 weeks (2x) and 37w (1x). She thinks it takes me "an awful long time to make a baby." And she reminds me of it constantly. So, while I have no advice for you I will remind you that you aren't even due yet and some babies just take a little longer to cook. Hang in there. All babies come out eventually.

For me, its taking Benadryl to make it this far due to the prodromal type labor issues. Not every night, but about every 3rd night its a necessity so I sleep well and don't kill people

I'm right there with you....

39 weeks + 2 days now, with painful everything (mostly pelvis + feet), and I'm so anxious to meet this little person I can't think about anything else.

My OB will induce, one way or another, between 41 and 42 weeks, so at least I know that there is a finite end to this...but I'm still just dying to meet her! : And to not be *so* big anymore!

I went to 41 weeks last time, and it was really frustrating. But I guess ds was just waiting for labour day. . Just remember that it is a finite thing and will end soon. I feel your pain, though, because at 38 wks 6 days with a bad hacking cough I am so done with pregnancy.

Last time I didn't have any kids, so I think in the last 2 weeks I read about 8 or 9 novels and watched the entired extended editions of the LOTR plus all the special features, and other than a walk once a day to keep my spirits up I hid in my house and refused to come out, lest anyone make a comment about how big I was or ask me when the baby was due.

Hang in there, its only a couple more weeks of discomfort, tops.

Have you tired any self inducing tricks? Are you dialated yet?

I'm 40w3d and as ready as I am for my little girl (which is EXTREMELY ready) I can't quite bring myself to do anything too drastic...yet. I've already been told that if I don't have her by 14 days after my due date that they will have to induce. NOT what I want to have happen. My midwife mess with the membrane as much as she could but said there wasn't too much she could reach. Didn't do much. I had a cranial sacral massage yesterday and that seemed to help me mentally prepare which I believe might be part of the hang up. I've really tried to let go of my anxiety. I did suspect she would come on the 6th so I will wait till then to really get too frustrated.

They said if I don't dilate more by induction date then they will have to use pitocin. I think I might attempt castor oil as a last resort before that. Has anyone used it before? Or I heard something about black licorice tea, anyone have exprience with that? I really would prefer to let her come when she's ready but I would use these options the day before induction if neccesary. (Petocin was very traumatic last labor and my body does not do well with it, so that is why I am so against it.)

Sorry for the long post, sometimes I just start typing and can't stop.

My MIL is really into astrology and se says that this baby will wait for the 16th or later as that is when something turns and aligns for a batter birth???

Hopefully, your baby is not waiting that long.

Well the 16th is my dh's birthday and that week there are like 3 other birthdays in my extented family. So it wouldn't suprise me. I was 3 weeks late when I was born and my mom was 2 weeks late. It appears that us ladies in the family need a little extra time in the oven.

Both of my kids were born at 37 weeks. So I am about 2 weeks further this time. I wouldn't mind being pregnant for another month if I wasn't having painful contractions every day that I can time for hours then when I make necessary calls it all stops. Then there was last week when I was in labor and dilated to 6 then it stopped and I went back down to 2-3 cm... I am pretty sure that there was a mental thing involved there.

This baby is just comfy! That is fine... she can have all the time she needs... doesn't mean that I don't need to vent once in awhile though!

I have only used subtle things like sex for inducing some contractions... but it doesn't do much other than send me into hours of contractions that keep me up all night and fade by morning...

Hmm... the 16th... that's two days past my due date. That wouldn't so bad!

I went 11 days over with DD and had to remind myself every day that the average first time mom goes 8 days over! I had a friend who had her first at 38 weeks and was planning on going at 38 weeks, or earlier with her second. I had trouble being compassionate when she went to 39.5 weeks! It's a hard wait... I hope you (all of us) get to meet our babies soon!

I was just calculating how much longer I could be pregnant "worst case scenario." My m/w's are using a date of 1/20 (which was a miscalculation based on an early u/s, it should be 1/17). So they will let me go to 2/3!! I CANNOT be pregnant in February!! My last u/s said the 9th, that sounds much better

DS was nearly 2 weeks late. There is NO WAY I can make it that long again this time. No way. It just can't happen. I'm weeping just thinking about it.
