Good info in an unlikely book

I was surprised to find a pretty pro-intact blurb in a pretty mainstream book, Pregnancy for Dummies. I was waiting for a prescription to be filled in CVS and picked up the book, expecting to find the usual BS, but what it said made my day. It said that it's a purely cultural decision, not a medical one, and that all the supposed benefits have been disproven. It said it was painful for the baby. The only bad info in the whole section (IMO) was the pain relief advice--it mentioned EMLA cream but not the lidocaine block.
Kinda cool that such a mainstream book is admitting that there's no good reason to circumcise a child.

See, if all mainstream books included that basic info, I think it would change a lot of the decisions made by folks who do a little research and are trying to make the best choice... as it is, so many places that people just trust to be objective are full of bogus info... That's awesome for the Dummies company!
