Rob just framed out our walk in closet. Have to paint it and then he'll put up rods and stuff. But I need help deciding how to map it all out.
It's 11 x 8 feet. The door is in the middle one of the 11' walls.
One of the 8' walls (to the right of the door) is all shelving from floor to ceiling. (To stack jeans, sweaters, etc, plus boxes of decorations, sentimentals, etc.)
The other 8' wall has an electrical outlet about 4' up. I'd like to make part of that wall a vanity of sorts.
I'm thinking the vanity will be made of a 4' long shelf about 4' high. Under that will be cupboards. Above that will be a mirror.
Next to the vanity section will be about 4' remaining. What to do with that? Shoes? Some type of dresser? ( But I have plenty of space for folded clothes on the shelves. I'll get some baskets for bras, etc.)
The 11' wall across from the door will have the closet rods. The usuable space on the rods will be about 8 feet since there will be shelves on both ends. I imagine it will need a shelf or somethign in the middle to give it some stability. One section of the rods will be double (high and low) and one will be just one (for my longer skirts, pants, etc).
What about the two areas on either side of the door? One will have a big wall mirror. I guess the other could just have a hanging shoe organizer for little catch alls.
