It's actually a great time to get them as they go on sale at the end of season (now).

The link to the Phython Drain & Fill pump doesn't work. Is this the same thing? http://www.amazon.com/Python-No-Spil...744033-4560813

I fixed the Python link in the original post on page one of this thread.

This thread is very helpful. We are planning a waterbirth HBAC this time around and I have been searching for a list like this. For those with waterbirth experience how important is it that the birth pool have a seat? Can one just put a stool or bench in there if one wants to for comfort? Or is it better to get the pool that has an attached seat?

Thanks
Carla

I never wanted to sit when in the pool, and I never had anyone in there with me, so it didn't matter. You are buoyant enough and the inflatable floor is padded enough that kneeling and squatting were the only positions I used. I guess you could use a plastic footstool (since it's submersible) if you wanted it for someone else to sit on. I think the BPIAB is the one that has a built-in inflatable seat.

I used the BPIAB two weeks ago for my son's birth. I *loved* it! I did use the seat once or twice when my MW was checking the baby's heartones, though I probably didn't need to. It didn't get fully enough inflated, so it wasn't as supportive as I would've needed. I spent most of my time either fully submerged (the depth was wonderful!!) sitting on the floor of the pool, or during ctxs I was up on my knees in one way or another. I did rest my arms on the cushion, too, but again it wasn't quite inflated enough or that would've been really nice.

I definitely loved the pool, but the best thing was the size of it and the depth!!

First, thanks for this AWESOME thread! I have the intex fishy pool and bought all the other misc. needs based on this list. Unfortunately, that link no longer works! Is Photo H in this link the same thing?

Yes, that is the same photo. I'll go and update the link in the original post now.

pump info, etc

you can also go to a hardware store and buy a pump: usually in the plumbing section for about $50. To me it's worth having if you aren't using heaters.

the floating thermometer only tells surface temp, so be careful when you get in the tub.

the depth of the tub is important (research shows a release of hormone that moves labor along), so spend what you can there...

A question, for some reason I can't figure this out.

Do I need to buy: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...1&N=2004&Nty=1

as well as:
No Spill Clean 'N Fill Accessories H. Replacement Faucet Pump
Python Hose Extensions 20 ft
No Spill Clean 'N Fill Accessories C. Flow Switch open/close

Or will those last three work just fine on their own to fill and drain the pool?

What you linked to above is a packaged kit that includes everything but also has one part you don't need - the gravel filter. It's usually much more expensive to buy a packaged kit like that one.

You need a faucet adapter, the drain & fill pump, and the hose. Those three things bought separately will cost about $27-$30.

Thanks! I'm overthinking this!

In the photo linked below, the faucet adapter you need is labeled "C" (the plastic one) or "E" (the metal one). They are standard and will allow you to connect any hose (aquarium, rv, or garden hose) and/or a drain & fill pump to the faucet in your sink.

Faucet Adapters
Ok. Another question. On this page, C is a Flow Switch open/close, not adaptor. So it will not work and is not needed, right? We would need something like the Universal Faucet Adapter or F. Brass Faucet Adapter
G. Faucet Adapter ? Right?

Correct. The adapter is F (brass) or G (plastic).

Great Thread!!

Wondering if the drain and fill pump will fit on our outside water faucet without an adapter since its already meant for hoses? Its the only place we have to hook up to because our three faucets in the house can't be attached to. My dh says he'll find a better way. But he's so busy and the baby's due in two weeks so I'd like to get this figured out sooner than later.

I would think so since they are universal. Only way to find out is to try!

I am having a faucet issue. We have some serious hard water issues in this apartment, and weird faucets.

I got the white plastic faucet adaptor (G- http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...pc=1&N=0&Nty=1)

It is not working. My faucet doesn't have the threaded part or just a tiny bit. What do other people do for this?

Kitchen sink with and without part screwed in:

Bathroom with and without:

Would the E or F option of adaptors work better? Anyone know? I am completely lost and can't find these in my area.

i would bring both aerators (the part you unscrewed) into a good hardware store or plumbing store - so you have the exact size.
they should be able to get you an adapter that can attach to a garden hose.
