I suspected a UTI in my 1yo son once. The dr's office gave me a baggie thing and a collection cup. I ended up just catching some mid-stream directly into the cup, like I would if I was providing a sample myself. FWIW the analysis came back clean, so I suppose this method could be sterile enough. If you've got a strong stream and you don't catch the first part or anything that has dripped off other body parts, it seems like that would be better than catching the whole thing in a taped on bag.
