Best linoleum? and carpet?

Ok.. here's the deal, I really want hardwood floors, but the housing program I am in, will only allow linoleum or carpet.. (after I close, I can remove the flooring and put in anything I want, but it will be new.. so why bother for a while??)

When I was on vacation last year, my hotel room had linoleum in the bathroom with a wood grain to it.. I thought that was pretty cool.

I don't think I will be allowed to buy pick out anything pricey.. and basically they have selected business A to provide the flooring, and it HAS to be either linoleum or carpet..

When you say lino, do you mean vinyl? Lino is hugely expensive and I think anyone up here knows how to install.

We did a whole house remodel two years ago. I thought I want wood until I started looking at what was in my budget and how we lived. I decided on Wilsonart laminate. Love it.

I picked Wilsonart no glue vinyl for the kids rooms. They have some seriously good looking wood patterns. Very nice. For the two oldest boys, I chose one which looks like punched metal. For the six yo I picked one with glow in the dark stars. They are really nice flooring choices with a bit of cushion, damp mop easily. I got mine at Big Bob's and I know SBS has this line. If that's not the chosen store, they could get it for you, but go look.

There is also a product which comes in planks of 3" x 36" and glues down. It looks good, but your subflooring basically has to be new or super super even since every little bump shows.

Never again am I going to have high care flooring or carpet. Except maybe a cement floor I could just hose off into a floor drain.

I meant to say Tarkett no glue vinyl, not wilsonart. How come I can't figure out the edit feature?
