A Wolfowitz in Sheep's Clothing

He sits in the meadow
waiting for prey
The old and the sickly
are “fair game” today
It makes not a difference
-the young or the small
When Pauly is hungry
he’ll feed on them all

For years he has waited
for just the right time
when no one was watching
to witness his crime
Distracting the flock
when the wind was just right
He sits undetected
-He’ll eat well tonight

His teeth now are showing
He’s poised for the kill
He gets no resistance
from up on the Hill
The shepherd’s are sleeping
It’s time to attack
The Wolf has arisen
-There’s no turning back

Can anything stop him?
No one can tell
Public indifference
is feeding him well
He’ll stay till the shepherds
chase him away
But why should he leave
when there’s such easy prey?

This is a gem, Madmax.

I'm getting soft, though. I laugh when reading your amazing works, but I also feel very sad.

Nice job, as always. We are lucky to have you here.

froggy

Don't sweat it girl! All thinking people are sad right now, and that means there's still some hope. As long as good people are still able to feel something, America is not just another casualty of war.
