Blockbuster video/ Nestle joint promotion - Page 2

I wonder if they know just how many free rentals they'll be giving away to moms.
I wonder if they realize how much future business they've just lost. Nobody in this household will be darkening their doors, (She was basically told that they are proud of it.), and with that attitude, probably never will again.

I'll be letting family who might care know too.

it's too bad because Nestle chocolate is so good.

I love my husband. I told him about this and said, "I'd like to cancel Blockbuster altogether, but I guess we can't because you have to rent stuff for church sometimes."

He said, "Aw, screw it. That (the campaign) really sucks."

He's a righteous man.

Wow, what a pile of BS... I wonder if they will include that 'helpful info' with the free rental?

It doesn't surprise me at all that these promo ads appeared in Chatelaine, the magazine that ran the article "Why I Hate Breastfeeding" a few months ago.

Ugh.

:

WHY???
I just wanted to add this:

If you are planning on canceling your membership, or not renting from Blockbuster, it is soooo important to tell them why, and by them I mean head office, not the highschool kid who works there on the weekend.

If enough people make noise over this, then it might have an impact.

has anyone heard back from blockbuster? I sent them a letter now officially two days ago. I am hoping ot hear back either today or tomarrow.

I would like to know if this campaign is going on in the US. I am going to stop going to Blockbuster even if it isn't, but I would be interested in knowing.
I sent my letter, I'll be interested to see what they have to say. I don't go there ever, since they've always had a close relationship with Nestle and (at least where I live) their prices are not on par with their competitors (even other brands).

Darn it! I just changed from netflix to blockbuster because I liked being able to trade movies in at the store. I guess I need to switch back to netflix now and make sure I let blockbuster know why.

Netflix.
Wow, I wasn't even planning on signing up for netflix.

Man..that stinks.

Heading over to netflix now and letting Blockbuster know I am canceling my membership via the scissors.

another fact about the blockbuster-nestle promotion: just read this FDA warning letter concerning nestle good start formula...

http://www.fda.gov/foi/warning_letters/g6152d.htm

and this is nestle's view of the code:

We comply with all codes
Like Canada, most industrialized countries have specific codes or legislation about infant nutrition and care. Nestlé respects all of these. We also voluntarily comply with the World Health Organization's ‘Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes’ in developing countries and wherever the Code is law.
In Canada, where the WHO Code is not legislated, Nestlé supports the position of the Canadian Paediatric Society, the Dietitians of Canada and Health Canada. This position is outlined in the document entitled The Nutrition for Healthy Term Infants, which states breast-feeding for as long as possible is best, and that formula is appropriate if mothers choose to supplement or discontinue breast-feeding. In addition, Nestlé complies with the Food and Drug Act and the Competition Act, which regulate the infant formula industry here in Canada.
