Is it safe to take Airborne while breastfeeding?

My dd is 13 months old and I think I'm coming down with a cold AGAIN. I'd really like to fight this one off. I just took 1000mg of vitamin C. I've heard that Airborne is great but I'm not sure about taking it while breastfeeding.

The packaging says no because it's not tested, but there are peds out there that would say that based on the actual ingredients--it's fine.

BUT, if you're ALREADY sick, it won't do much for you (or so that's the general concensus among a group of ladies I hand with).

All airborne is is an incomplete multivitamin- that's all. So yes it's safe, but you might as well take your standard prenatal and get full coverage. I actually use zicam swabs to help stave off the colds, it's the only thing I've found that works whatsoever, but some people don't like them (swabs are better than the pump spray for keeping it out of the part of your nose where the smell receptors could get damaged). Just be careful because some of the varities contain splenda.... You might try Emergen-C instead.

I know it's silly, but we fly every month and since I've started taking airborne the morning after we get off the plane, we've had fewer colds. We still take all our regular vitamins too, but for us, the added boost has helped.

DH is an acupuncturist/herbalist and we've taken Airborne for years. DS is 3y8m and still nursing, and we've had no problems. DS even takes his own dose. We continue to find that the added boost really helps all three of us . . . even if we do come down with something, it's usually much milder and shorter in duration.

i've seen airborne jr. now so atleast that must be okay for little ones.
