Quick Help w/ Stalled Labor

Any ideas? I'm terrified to call the MW as I know it'll start my 24 hour clock but my water broke about 3 hours ago and so far, not a whole lot is happening. Last night they were every 3-4 minutes for a minute for 4 hours, then chilled so I slept, then little bits, then Pop! at wally world and now, just sorta half happening. NO blue cohosh avail. at the moment or I'd try it as its better than PIt. in my book and I want my darned homebirth! DS did this to me and it took about 31 hours after water broke to get him out, with Pit. and then he presented with mec. just hours before delivery. Ack! Help! Any ideas?

How about not admitting that you know your water broke? Later on if it is really taking a long time and you are really really worried you could say that you think it might have been leaking a little all along? You have more of a chance of infection at a hospital than at your own home anyway and if your mw comes over and checks the heartbeat and everything seems fine, who needs to know that they water broke??

Just my 2 cents worth!! (did you try nipple stim?)

Most labors really get going within 24 hours of the water breaking. I'm so sorry your mw has you on a time clock. Were you gbs + or something?
My advice is to drink a ton of rrl tea (if you have it) and keep walking and moving around. Don't sit down! Best of luck and quick labor vibes...

Oregano Oil. You need it.

It is counter-indicated during most of pregnancy, but perfect if you water breaks and labor doesn't start. It is a strong anti-fungal and anti-bacterial... and it causes contractions. I bought a "just in case" bottle of capsules at the health food store - 30 capsules for $9. If you have a Whole Foods or something nearby they might be open on a Sunday night and your dh could run out and get you some. I've heard different dosing but what I'd try is 2 capsules every 3-4 hours (you could take 2 capsules and 2 more 2 hours apart to get things started).

Good luck.

No suggestions here except go for walks and take some naps and try to relax. Also, keep everything really clean so no infection gets up there. Good luck.

My water hadn't broken, but when I couldn't take being pregnant another day (I was 8 days over) my MW prescribed homeopathic gelsemium and my breast pump. I was having good, strong contractions within 45 minutes. (I had been having mild contractions occasionally for a few weeks.)

Good luck!

Ack! Our internet went down. So I finally called the MW to come check, and she didn't get a positive nitrazine test *YAY* so I might have a leak, but its a high one if I do, and since we don't know for sure, theres no rush. She did say that she couldn't find the amniotic sac in front of the head because she's so fully engaged =) And she could even feel the sutures on her head!! I'm now a full 2 cms and 80% effaced, and we're treating it as a possible leak so we're on hot monkey sex restrictions LMAO and keeping things out of the area. She did say that if I had to induce (at home of course) it would definitely work as my body is definitely in full prep mode. And for someone who asked, it's a Fla thing....more than 24 hours with verified ROM and no imminent birth (actually they want you in labor for real within 12 hours but there's some leeway) and you "risk out" of a MW attended homebirth. BUt since it now seems that her head is so engaged, my water may not break before labor this time =)
