Guess where I nursed?

Walking around Lowes buying a new toilet for our house with my husband. No one said a thing - I am not sure if people would even tell what I was doing. I was nervous for about 2 seconds and then I was like, "I dare someone to say something to me!" Woo! I felt great!

Just thought I'd share.

That's great!

I nursed at the paint counter of the Home Depot not too long ago... I don't think the guy helping us knew exactly what was going on under my Kozy, but he definitely wasn't looking!!!!

Way to go, mama! You have the right idea for sure. Those are the greatest places to nurse, I've never had anyone even look at me funny. We like the garden areas where the patio furniture is - those patio gliders are wonderful for nursing and relaxing in. Although once, when it was too cold to go outside, we sat on a lawn tractor and nursed!!

HAHA I had to respond. Lowes was one of the first places I NIP. I don't remember what we were there for, but Katelyn was ittybitty- still happy to be in cradle position in the pouch I had.

LOL!

So how did you do this? I nursed walking around the BX (military base store) the other day, but could not figure out how to do this without flashing EVERYTHING(side fat and all), so I covered up with a blanket, which made me feel like a neon sign was screaming I'm nursing. I ended up sitting on a bench while DH checked out. I just hate using a blanket.

Anyway, WTG mamma.

well I had on a hoodie sweatshirt, so I lifted my shirt underneath (I have stopped wearing a bra, too annoying, so I am now always dressed in layers), stuck the babe on, and then sotra pulled my sweatshirt over my belly and around her like a blanket. I still had a bit of flab showing, but I think her body covered a lot of it. Also, most of the time she was eating we were walking around the toilet aisle, and no one was really in there - well three people were, but not near us, so I didn't worry about the flab too much.

One trick I use is to wear a loose thin-strapped tank under my shirt, and when I lift the shirt to nurse I just slip the neckline of the tank under the breast. That way the area of belly & side that the shirt lifts up from are still covered by the tank, which you can tuck in if you like for extra warmth.

I've NIP'd in Lowe's, too. I had DS in the sling (hip carry) and I was wearing a nursing top - I just lifted the top layer on his side and he turned to it and nursed. No one even looked twice - it looked like he was just leaning on me, resting or something.
