I just can't keep my sink dry! Or dishes out of it! The moment I do the dishes, clean out the sink, make it all pretty and shiny, DP goes and eats a PB&J sandwich and tosses a sticky knife in the sink.

Well, concerning this sink issue - you only shine your sink at night (is my understanding). The point is to get up to a clean sink in the morning.
My sink never really looks nice because it's not stainless steel plus it's old and all scratched up. I go for a clean and empty sink.
Oh, anyway, sign me up! I actually started on my own and tomorrow will be day 9 for me. I imagine those of us who already started the month of baby steps will just continue on where we are.
I've never done flylady before but I am very motivated....OK, not overly motivated, but I'm sticking to the plan so far

Every thread about flylady has people complaining about all the e-mails. Although I can see where it would be annoying you can sign up for less e-mails and also you can use your delete button.
When you first read the intro thing for people just starting out, she tells you not to pay any attention to all the e-mails and to just delete them. Then on day 4, or something, she tells you to set the timer for 2 minutes and read some of the e-mails, then delete the rest. To me this is reasonable. Also, none of the e-mails need to be opened. The reminder is in the subject line. I just click delete or "mark as read" and it goes away.
I figure they're there if I need them and if not I delete them and forget it. Maybe there will come a time that I won't want any or I might want fewer, but right now it keeps me on track. I feel like someone is standing over me, and that is what I need.
I'm waiting to get a timer because I am not so sure that I will end up using one. I'm waiting to see. So far I have not used one. Obviously I have a kitchen timer but it is too loud and my dd doesn't like it, so I am not going to go around setting it for 2 and 5 min. all over the house.
These baby steps are working for me because I could have never gotten myself to just jump in to any program - ever....OK, well at least not for more than a day.
I'm excited about this thread
