I just had to share this as soon as I could get back to my computer. Over Christmas I was in a Whole Foods outside of Atlanta. Being quite thirsty, I thought I'd splurge on a juice from the juice bar. The guy making the juice (who was probably in his 50's, maybe a little older) complimented me on my healthy baby and asked me if I was still nursing. I said yes. And he proceeded to compliment me on continuing to nurse. Then we had this great conversation that lasted about 10 minutes on nursing and the benefits of nursing and how our culture is a little backwards about it. And he was really enthusiastically supportive of extended nursing!! And very well educated about it! It made my vacation.
Then I got into the car and totally geeked out on my mom and my aunt (who are both slightly uncomfortable with how often ds nurses... cuz I'm spoiling him don't ya know). They couldn't wait to change the subject!
