... or are we doing something wrong?
Our normally-cloth-diapered baby is in disposables right now because our washing machine and hot water supply are on the blink. We have had at least one leaky poopy diaper every day. We had one leaky poopy diaper in nine weeks of cloth diapering. Are disposies really so leaky? Should we try a different size? He's at the upper end of the weight range - but still fitting comfortably into clothes marked "up to 11 lbs" even though he weighs at least 13. Any other pointers?

I have had many problems with leaky diapers. I found that Pampers Baby Dry work the best for me. I've been using them for a few months and have only had 1 leaky diaper (just the other day) and it was pee. Of course, dds poop is more solid now...but I still like them the best.
: Anyway, good luck fixing your leaks.
Always leaks and blow outs. We actually put a diaper cover over the sposies because they are so unreliable.
I think blowouts are much, much more common with disposables...perhaps depending on your cloth diapering system. We use prefolds and covers and on the occasion when poop leaks out of the actual diaper it's always caught by the cover. Much easier to swap out a cover than change an outfit.
) I would try going up another size.
