I read about this book, which really seems to describe us lactivists here, especially in regards to Nurse-Ins:

An Army of Davids: How Markets and Technology Empower Ordinary People to Beat Big Media, Big Government and Other Goliaths.

by Glenn Reynolds, a law professor at the University of Tennessee

This is from a magazine article about the author/book.

"One of the ideas he's promoted most assiduously since 9/11 is the virtues of "a pack, not a herd". That Tuesday morning [of Sept 11], the herd mentality - big government wedded to 1970's hijack procedures - failed spectacularly. On the other hand, on Flight 93, a pack - an ad-hoc coalition of fast-thinking individuals - figured out what was going on, acted swiftly, and at the cost of their own lives prevented that fourth plane from reaching its intended target."

quote from Maclean's Magazine:

DISCLAIMER:

I didn’t read the book, nor scrutinize the site.

It has come to my attention that this commentator has strong opinions on politics, that may not be supportive of the actions of lactivists.

I just was intrigued by the idea of how small groups could influence big establishment. I was thinking about the concept, in the similar vein of such books as “The Tipping Point”. I had better retract that book recommendation.

I am perhaps somewhat naĂŻve of big picture politics, especially in the US sometimes.

Thanks

Wasn't it Margaret Mead who commented that not only do small groups of dedicated people change the world, but that they are the only ones who ever have?

I don't remember the entire, and more importantly, accurate quote.
