Ankle Pressure Points

Hey girls

Just wondering if anyone has any info on this "mysterious" spot on our ankles where there is a pressure point for starting labor?? I tried googling it and got a bunch of what could be *crap* so I thought I would ask around here and see if anyone had had any experience or knows of a quality site where it might show a chart perhaps?! I thought I might be able to convince my fiance to give me a foot rub later and then show him where he might want to concentrate

Anyway....thanks

I forget the name of the spot, but it's on the inside of your legs, four fingers up from your ankle bone. You'll know when you hit it because it HURTS like the dickens.

Poke around between your ankle bone and your heel. You'll find it. It will be MUCH more tender than all the surrounding areas. Once you've found it press as hard as you can for a couple of minutes at a time. It is supposed to work better if you can do both ankles at the same time.

I just googled that yesterday and agree with bleumoose...approximately 4 fingers above the ankle bone on the inside of your leg. I havent tried it, but there is supposed to be some major tenderness.

The uterus point in reflexology is located on the inside ankle about halfway between the ankle bone (malleolus) and the heel. On a non-pregnant foot there is a natural indentation there, on the pregnant foot it is puffy and soft. Gentle rotations over this area may help to relax the uterus and give labor a nudge in the right direction. Deep pressure here is not advised.

This won't replace a labor/maternity session with a professional reflexologist but it might help with braxton hicks or slow prelabor.

Hope this helps!
