bamboo sheets?

has anyone tried bed sheets made from bamboo? We has a modal set that has died after 2yrs. (2yrs of constant use on a bed for 3 that was often washed twice a week due to bed wetting)
We love the feel of modal but would like something stronger, though now we are washing at our regular once a week so hopefully anything would last longer now.

I was going to suggest the kind that we have, but I couldn't remember what they were made of. I just looked on Bed, Bath, & Beyond and I think they are the same ones that you had....Made from Modal, a fiber made from the Beechwood tree? I LOVE them.

Bamboo would probably be nice, but I don't know! I was just thinking that we need an extra set because I only have one and have to wait for it to wash and dry and it's hard doing that when the baby co-sleeps and naps 2x a day on our bed!

If you try Bamboo, let me know how they compare to the Modal!

I have bamboo sheets that I bought at Target and I love them. I have only had them about a year though so I am not sure how long they will hold up. So far, so good. I have never tried Modal either so I can't compare.

I don't have bamboo sheets but I have clothing made from bamboo and it is so soft and cozy. i imagine a bed dressed in bamboo would be heaven.

KMK - did you get the jersey or the "regular" ones. We went with the "regular". Yeah, the softness is amazing. Ours just is getting holes. I've tried patching, but the fabric has gotten very thin that it just ripes on the edge of the patch. I also found it to stretch out a lot. That was the reason I didn't get the jersey. Have you noticed any of this?

I think I got the regular. I don't remember seeing jersey?? They are SOOOO soft. I love them. I haven't gotten any holes yet, but they do *sometimes* stretch a bit and come out from being tucked, but then again, I always put the top sheet on the bottom and the fitted sheet on top. Does that make sense? I have always done that with all sheets, because I don't sleep with a sheet on top of me. I use another blanket...I guess I just need something heavier than a sheet. The one thing I have noticed that I don't like about them, is that they seem to stain pretty easy....but maybe it's just because they are so dark? I have the dark maroon color. Like anything "greasy" stains and does not come out in the wash. Breastmilk stains, spit-up stains from breastmilk, and the big round stain on my DH's pillow from his head? Kind of gross, but I would still buy another set because I love them!

our modal sheets are falling apart too, but are a bit older, about 3 years. we have the jersey.

LOVE my bamboo sheets. I got them Target for some crazy cheap price and they have held up very well...I've had them a little over a year now and they are fabulous!

I just bought the bamboo from BB&B so give me a while and I'll post back. They felt very similar to the modal. I hope they hold up better. Sorry to hear about the stains KMK. We had the white ones and never had any problems.
Happymomma - does your bamboo sheets have any cotton mixed in? I wonder if that might make them stronger and wear better.

Nope, no cotton just 100% bamboo...I cannot even find them anymore at Target...they were only $40 and they are king size!

well here's my review of the BB&B bamboo sheets.

After 2 months of constant use...
bamboo takes a lot longer to dry, isn't as soft as modal, but still nicer than cotton and the bamboo has some slight pilling issues. I never had any pilling issues with the modal ones.
I'm only hoping bamboo holds up better. Either way, when we do buy new sheets Dh wants to go back to the modal.

my MIL gave us bamboo sheets for Christmas. They're extra soft. Best of all, the cat hair seems to not stick or pill on to them like cotton sheets.

I have some Bamboo sheets that I got from Target. I don't think that they have them anymore. I went and looked and couldn;t find them.

We have a set of bamboo sheets from bed bath & beyond on our bed right now. They feel incredible! They're so soft and light. The one thing I don't like is they tend to get really wrinkly after you wash and dry them so you might need to iron them before putting them on your bed again.

for the wrinkles. I use fabric softner and put them on the bed as soon as they're dried (we only have 1 set of sheets).
I also wash once a week as they do get pretty streched out by then.
My modal set was the same way.

Can anyone report on how the jersey modal sheets hold up.

The Target here used to have the sheets, pillows, and towels and now they don't have any of it.

We have the Target ones in our guest room. They're super soft but since they're in a guest room they haven't gotten much wear so I can't say how they hold up. I was wishing I'd gotten some for our bed but our Target doesn't have them any more.

i wore a hole completely through my bb&b beechwood sheets in about a year it's right where my heels go, so i guess dry skin was the culprit. i'd love to try bamboo, so :
