DD won't breastfeed

When DD was born, I was determined to bf, but completely unprepared for the soreness and emotional and physical drain. I wish I'd known about this site then! Anyway, we started using bottles of ebm at 1 month, to help with sore nipples and because I wanted a break now & then. I started relying more & more on the bottles, although she'd still bf. But a few weeks ago, she decided she no longer wanted to bf. I didn't realize she was starting to wean or I'd have taken action sooner. It wasn't until just before I had to return to work that I started getting concerned. I went to a LLL meeting and for a couple weeks now have been working w/DD before & after work, trying to encourage her to nurse. Once in a while she'll nurse like a charm, then the next feeding will be horrible. It seems I'm making her cry all the time. Often just laying her in a nursing position makes her scream. Normally I can get her to bf if I catch her when she is just waking up. Today she won't even feed then. Next week my work hours increase so I'll have even less time w/her. I no longer give her a bottle, but last night when DH was at work, she wouldn't eat & finally I fed her some with a spoon. I am at my wit's end. When she was a newborn, I wanted to quit and now that I desperately want to bf, she doesn't!

To top it off, we got her "addicted" to the pacifier. I didn't realize it could interfere w/bf. So now we're trying to wean her from that, which means lots more tears. Oh how I wish we'd never heard of a pacifier!

Has anyone else faced this and won? Or am I facing months and months of pumping? (DH is 3 months old.)

what a hard situation. i'm so sorry you're dealing with this.
you might want to re-post this in the "getting started and overcoming difficulties" forum, and/or PM DaryLLL directly. she's a HUGE source of info and support for nursing moms.
