Oh please God let this be it.

I woke up about an hour ago (yes, I go to bed quite early) with painful contractions 6 minutes apart. They are just over a minute long. And I just had some blood tinged show. :

This would be after this afternoon's hormonal fit. MW came over to check on me and dh actually stuck around. He had questions about "how long are you going to let this go on?" He wanted to know about inductions, handing me "back to the ob", just scheduling a repeat c/s. She left and shortly thereafter he left to get our daughter from school. By the time he returned I had worked myself up into such a tizzy that I let him have it with the full force of pregnancy hormones. After all, he did have the nerve, THE NERVE to suggest I just schedule a repeat c/s!

I used a lot of very bad words.

Oh PLEASE let this be it. And one more thing - quick. It needs to be quick. I am not a night owl.

I first read this 6 hours ago when I was up for my typical awake-for-2-hours-in-the-middle-of-the-night-for-no-reason. I'm hoping that no more news from you means good news!!

Well, I labored through the night. For several hours I tried to sleep but each and every time I laid down the pain would go straight through me from cervix to sacrum and down my legs. So I sat up. No sleeping. Managable on the birth ball but still contracting. Called the doula and mw to come over about 3am because my contractions were 4 minutes apart and 1-1:30. They stayed there until about 7am when they started to slow down. By 8 they had all but stopped, being random and 10-20 minutes apart. Homeopathics and walking would not get me started again.

MW checked me about 8. On Friday (at the version) I was closed up tight, high cervix and 50% effaced. At 8am today I was low soft cervix, fingertip dialated, 80% effaced and baby at station 0. So progress, just not as much as one would hope for after 8-9 hours labor.

Doula and mw left about 8:30 and I laid down to sleep. And the stinkin' contractions started right back up again when I laid down! Now that I'm sitting on the birth ball at the computer they've calmed down again.

So basically I'm being slowly tortured through contractions and sleep depravation. This sucks. I'm really hoping that when I start to dialated I just open right up. I really don't want to be in labor for days.

Bummer labor didn't keep up, but hooray for progress! I hope you're able to get some rest. Maybe a warm bath would let you sleep without the contractions - if you can sleep in the tub. Good luck! Sending you speedy, easy labor vibes!

Wow! That sounds really challenging. I know that you are going to do great through it. It does sound like you are making really good progress! I hope that by now you are holding a baby!
