Pregnancy issues

What "problems" have you been diagnosed with during this pregnancy (I say "problems" because a lot of the diagnosis are just common inconveniences)? Gestational diabetes? Anemia?

I think I'm past the worst of it, but I was diagnosed with PUPPP last week. It made me very self concious, the insane itching and the bumps. What's weird is it usually happens with a first time pregnancy, when you're pregnant with a male child, and you gain a lot of weight. This is my fourth pregnancy, it's a girl, and I've only gained 15 lbs! I used some baby lotion and cornstarch and that seemed to relieve it a lot. Anybody else here have PUPPP?

I also had a kidney infection, which led to a low platelet count and anemia.

I developed a wheat- probably actually a gluten- intolerance. How weird is that? I don't know if it's permanent or not, though everyone keeps asking me that.

Glad the PUPP is better- it sounds like a pain!

All I've had is the usual stuff: acid reflux, hard to get comfortable since I'm this big, morning sickness for the first bit, the big boob backache, and some leg swelling since Christmas. Oh, and a month long headache when I gave up caffeine in June.

Nothing to complain about, but I will be glad to get my body back!

I had a low-lying placenta that resolved itself by my 34 week repeat u/s. He was also breech until about the same time. Other than that, nothing unusual. Everything is pretty normal. No swelling this time around, no problems or extra tests even with the kidney. So, we're all OK!

I was lactose intolerant until about a month ago. It happened with my last pregnancy, too.

I have a weird rash on my thighs. I think it's from my giant belly laying on them when I sit around the house in my underwear :

I have PIH.

I'm also GBS+, but was last time, too, so it wasn't really a surprise for me. No fun nonetheless.

High blood pressure. Todays doc visit is the first time it's been high and I'm 38 wks pregnant already. But now I have to stay home from work and stay off my feet until the baby comes. I'm going to be soooo bored. I also some how gained 13 pounds in the last 2 wks. I don't even know how that is humanly possible. my eating is the same as it has been all along. Although my ankles, legs and feet are massivly bloated. Otherwise I feel fine.

Are they checking for protein in your urine? I'm just asking because gaining 13 lbs in 2 weeks is not normal, and could be indicative of preeclampsia. What was your blood pressure?

They didn't tell me exactly what my bp was, just said it was high. The doctor said to stay off my feet until Tuesday when I come in for another visit (the office is closed monday because of the holiday). They took a urine sample which I assume they will check for protein. The weight gain really concerned me too. I've been drinking a ton of water too, and my legs have been extra puffy. But I also was back at work this week after 2 weeks off for the holidays. So I don't know if being on my feet so much could cause the higher bp or the extra swelling. the doc said not to hesitate to call if I had blurry vision or any other concerning symptoms. The doc didn't seem overly concerned just advised rest and lots of fluids.

My BP went up with both babies at the very end (like you, junipermuse). I think that your weight gain is probably swelling. Mine was. I gained about 6 pounds in a week and was swollen for a short period. I had just been too active. I definitely think being on your feet a lot at this stage will contribute to swelling.

Remember, we are *all* a lot larger than we were 9 months ago! So, there will be a natural increase in blood pressure to accommodate that size change!

As for me, I had severe nausea for 7.5 months, and now I am feeling pretty good! Just sore and waddle-y! I have a touch of heartburn, but it is so mild I can just pop a tums and it is gone. My BP was up last week, they did all the testing, which was fine. I managed it with a homeopathic remedy -- dropped it right down! Plus, it pretty much got rid of my heartburn and insomnia, too! BONUS!

Now, I am just looking forward to birth so much! I can't wait for my mom and sister to get here and to HOLD MY BABY!!!

On a weird side note, my 3.5 yo DS who hasn't nursed in 6 weeks, asked to nurse in the night last night. He nursed about 15 minutes. OUCH!!! I was so surprised!
