YEAH!
How would you feel about WM being advertised on MDC? Do you think that it is what MDC stands for?

I haven't read any replies...

But for a long time I liked WalMart and shopped there frequently. I am sad to think of all the money we wasted on things we barely even wanted, let alone needed - because it was "such a good deal". :

I'll take you up on your challenge - I do not enjoy going to WalMart at all, and even though now I only go maybe 5 times a year, I will try my best to never go in a WalMart again!

I do not shop at Walmart any more either. I was unhappy with everything I was hearing and reading about their business practcies and then had too many horrible shopping experiences in a row- learned my lesson basically! And their crazy use of plastic bags- AH!

So, we definitely will not shop there again! I would much rather go to our local grocery where I get a better product and everyone recognizes my kids and treats us like they care... even if it means I'll spend an extra few dollars- it's worth my sanity and integrity!

Not to hijack the thread...but here's a complete list (I think) of Nestle brands: http://www.nestle.com/Our_Brands/Our+Brands.htm

INFACT Canada has a Nestle boycott kit: http://www.infactcanada.ca/Resource%...0Form%2004.pdf

I have really been working hard lately to avoid shopping at Walmart. I am down to maybe once a month and only for a few items on my list that are FAR cheaper than any other store. I try to buy used whenever I can and try to buy the stuff I need at other stores. I'm hoping to be completely Walmart free this year!

Ditto that

The only thing we do with Wal-Mart is use their recycling center! They are losing money on us. HA HA HA

I would love to stop shopping at Wal-Mart. Their stuff is crap and they never have cashiers at our store. I mostly shop used: Goodwill, ebay, garage sales, and estate auctions.

That said, I hate to be the one on the other side of the discussion:

But the thing I like about Wal-Mart is the selection! The local grocery store in my TINY town has about 5 short aisles filled with junk food. Super Wal-Mart has a HUGE grocery section which carries a lot of items that I like. Like bulk ground turkey, low-carb tortillas, pop I like, water I like, cheeses, etc. If I could find what I wanted in 1 grocery store in the bigger town nearby I would so shop there.

I also like price matching. If you bring in an ad from another store, you get the price they are offering on your item.

By the way, I worked at a Super Wal-Mart all through college to support me and my then boyfriend/ now husband. I worked in Ladieswear, and I LOVED LOVED it! But maybe that was because I worked hard, I liked my bosses and the other employees. I never felt like they treated me poorly, and the pay was fine for my station in life. We had good morale at my store, so maybe thats why it was a good experience that I really miss now! I had benefits, bought stock and made money, used all the discounts I could like vision center, oil change, haircut. We did Relay for Life as a Walmart team.

But I am totally on your side and want to stop shopping there to stop buying crap!!!!!!!!

Mall-Wart: your source for cheap plastic crap

I hate Wal-Mart. I haven't shopped there in 2 years. And I 've noticed something, I've been decluttering for the past 3 months and almost everything I've decided to get rid of can go in to one of two catergories:
1)Gifts from inlaws 2)Junk I bought at Mall-Wart
Coincidence? I think not.

I'm in!

I really hate Wal-Mart for multiple reasons.

Give me Target and Costco, I'll be fine.

I work in the marketing industry, in reading an industry artcile the other day I saw that WalMart had hired a new PR/ advertsising company to produce new commercials to turn the tide agaisnt all the "WalMart haters".

This morning, I've seen 3 WalMart ads on TV in the past 2 hours... talking about how well they treat their employees, how Walmart has provided insurance for 15,000 new employees this year and how health insurance only costs them $1 a day. Also tried to higlight that their assocaites are #1 in their eyes, they are who matters...
blah, blah, blah.

15,000 employees this year! WOW from the nations largest employer. Big WOW!

$1 a day for health insurance! WOW - to bad they keep most of their employees as part timers and don't give out many full time jobs... - WOW BIG WOW $1 a day!

Please don't let "slick" advertising sway you in your resolve to stop shpping at WalMart.

I refuse to go to Wal-Mart and never shop there anyway but for those of you finding it a challenge not to go, here is a link to interesting Wal-Mart pictures:

It just looks like someone took those pictures when the shelves were empty and needed to be restocked and straightened up. It's just a bunch of pictures of empty shelves. It doesn't look "dirty," just empty.

I'm compacting anyway, so I'll be avoiding WM too.

Yup, our walmart looks like that all the time. Crap in the aisles, etc. Sure, some shelves will get depleted, this happens at our grocery store - one shelf will be empty. not all of them!
