We listened to a tape of this almost constantly on a 8 hour drive (and back again) a couple of years ago and I didn't mind. The monkey song is really cute. (I think there might be a hunting or, more probably, an extinction reference in one of the songs, can't remember for sure, but it surprised me and made me laugh in a shaedenfreud way. I'll update if I catch what struck me during our relistening on our damaged tape)
ETA The song for V about the vicuna addresses that they were almost hunted to extinction including the lyrics "slaughtered by the hundreds" before they were protected by law. I had remembered that there was something that might disturb a very sensitive child.
