I was seriously worried for awhile there...

We had a "big" snowstorm last night (for here anyway... I dont know that 4 inches of snow is really "big", haha) and the roads are ridiculous. It took my DH 3 hours to drive home (and that was with abandoning the car in a parking lot down the hill from our house and walking the rest), normally it takes him 7 minutes. Seriously.

And I was having a lot of pressure-filled painful contractions all evening. Can you imagine? Here I am with my 6 and 3 year olds and no DH and no MW, and a history of a 2 hour labor last time! : I told him to leave work earlier, but nooooo....

I really thought last night was going to be it, and was envisioning my MW not making it through the snow which just kept coming down. I felt shaky and nauseated and was contracting a lot, though not in a regular pattern. Thank goodness it stopped when I went to sleep.

Baby, you better not come today either... everything is still impassable! At least DH is home, but I dont know where I'd be able to send my kids... Wait till Monday, Baby, when my favorite midwife is back on call!

Anybody else in the PacNW getting nervous?

Not in Pacific NW anymore, but here in the Canadian Prairies we just had a major blizzard buzz through yesterday (I don't think it dipped down into the US). Dh and I were making lists of people we know with 4 wheel drive vehicles last night before bed. Fortunately things are not too too bad today, and baby is still tucked away. But I feel your nervousness.

Last night I was really crampy and feeling lots of pressure, but nothing that could be described as a pattern. Luckily we didn't get too much snow up here, though it's really icey and the PNW can't handle ice worth a dang! I'm house-bound another day -- having fun playing with baby clothes

Not in the NW, but Michigan. We've had no winter to speak of but of course we're suppose to have a storm coming Sunday/Monday. Right now they aren't sure if it will be snow/ice/rain, but I have visions of going into labor with a 45 min. drive to the hospital in an ice storm! At least we are pretty use to this, in a normal winter anyway, and have the road crews to handle it!

I was actually hoping baby would come for a snow birthday. We have more snow than we usually get in any given year today (it's still snowing!), and it would have been so unique for baby to have a snow birthday. But, alas, baby is not listening. :P

Carrie -- its probably the storm we just got -- its supposed to be in Winnipeg and then dipping down into the US today. If it is, its lots of blowing snow, so poor visibility and hard to get anywhere. Good luck. Hope baby is sensible and comes now or stays put until after.

I have actually heard that when the barometric pressure drops, women are more likely to go into labor! I'm in the PacNW too and had contractions yesterday and today- but didn't go into labor. I'm actually HOPING that it continues to storm so I can get this baby outta there!

I'm due the 25th too, and we're supposed to get slammed with a big ice storm starting tomorrow. I'm in the midwest. I'm hoping baby stays put till it's cleared. Hopefully I'll get a nesting urge and get some things done, since we'll be trapped inside a few days.

Now that I have seen the forecast for this snow storm, I am a bit concerned! My due "time frame" was between the 9th and the 17th. We are expecting to be hit with this ice/snow storm on Sunday/Monday (14th/15th). We are suppose to get "measurable ice" and up to inches of snow! I've heard too that when the pressure drops, women are more likely to go into labor. It's also coincidently the same phase of the moon that DD was born under, that I was born under and DH's birthday! I'm hoping that this baby has the sense to either come soon or wait out this storm!

Right now the worst part is that my older kids have been home from school for the past two days, and will be home again on Monday for MLK Day! Don't the school officials know that I am way too pregnant to cope with these kiddos all day, especially my highly spirited 6 yo! : And its not like I feel okay driving in this weather with these guys, so we're just home alone all day...

I am ready to go into labor, my favorite midwife being away or not, just so I have an excuse to send the kids off somewhere for awhile.
