Our baby isn't born yet, but I have been talking to my husband about buying a Baby Bjorn because he is completely blind and I think he would be more comfortable and confident with a carrier instead of a sling. He said he didn't want to carry a baby on his back while he did things. I said "no you carry them in front on your chest." He said" Oh ok, as long as I can smooch on her and snuggle with her and hug her and smell her little head then I'll carry her in anything." I thought that was so sweet. It just melted my heart.

I finally got my Maya Sling the other day and I was so very excited...brought thome to hubby and his response??????? "why did you spend $40.00 on a curtain" I could have cried. So, I will wear the baby and he will simply carry the baby. I think he prefers this anyway! Also, my baby loves his stroller. I just feel so bad for putting him in it! I want him to be next to me!

IMHO, there's no feeble excuse for collecting baby carriers! Hey, there are worse addictions. Plus, this stuff has excellent resale value on eBay. I have many, many ways of justifying my large collection, not the least of which is that 10 mo. Carter doesn't like to get down, ever, for any reason, even for a minute.

YES!!!!!! He tried it for the first time yesterday and is hooked! I actually went grocery shopping today for the 1st time since she was born, by myself!!!!! It has made me fall deeper in love with him seeing him wearing her.

DH is the SAHP and has become a champion babywearer. He is way better at the Maya wrap than I am (I am okay with the pouch but terrible with anything that requires adjusting!) and she takes 95 percent of her naps on him, in the sling. We just got back from a trip involving a plane flight and he carried her in the sling through the airport (with a little "Fragile" sticker on the front - very cute). Everyone we meet thinks it's really cool and no one has said he looks "girly" (both of our slings are blue - I bought non-girly colors on purpose when i thought he might not want to babywear).

It's awesome!

Glad to see so many Babywearin' hubands (and partners) out there! I'm always trying to obligate my DH to childcare & remind him that he's not "babysitting". It's good to have the sling for this when we're out & about.

dh is really into the whole ap thing, but he won't wear her. he doesn't trust the sling i think. however, he _won't_ put her down. her prefers to carry her everywhere, and won't even put her in a highchair at restaraunts, unless she's going to be eating more than a little snack and getting messy.

DH won't do the sling, but once dd got older he carried her ALL THE TIME in the baby bjorn.

He loves the hip hammock, has tried my maya wrap a few things, but is frightened by the didymos. Once ds is old enough, dh is pysched to use a back pack carrier.

My dh has tried it a couple of times, but since ds doesn't settle in it quickly like he does for me he gives up and want to just carry him.

Actually we each have out own slings that we like! She has the one with the cushion and I love my Maya Wrap!

DH will wear Austin in the Snugi. The sling I had was too small for him, and he hasn't had a chance to try out the new one yet.

DH loves the slings(we have 5 different ones!). He wears our little one in it. With our older son, Noah, he wears him in the backpack for trips to the park, zoo, walks, etc...

I am very proud of DH. I thought he was just using the sling to make me happy once in a while, Ryan is 5 weeks and we haven't used it a ton yet.

Yesterday, we were visiting with DH's family including a brother that lives pretty far away and we only see once or twice a year. Anyway, I had Ryan in the sling and asked DH if he wanted to hold him and he said yes and just kept him in the sling and had me help him put it on. I was suprised he would wear it in public and with his family, but then his mom was taking some pictures with the grandkids and sons and he just kept it on with Ryan in it. I was very surprised, obviously he isn't embarassed at all. I am very excited about that, he has agreed with all of the AP style parenting choices I have talked to him about even though we know of no one else who practices them.

I think it is really wonderful to see so many babywearing dads.

Dad will occasionally wear Hunter in the Bean carrier ( or did til i sold it). Right now he prefers to carry him in his arms but Hunter is coming to the backpack age which is Dh's favorite babywearing activity. I think I may buy him another bean carrier soon since he really liked it. ( I honestly didn't realize how much til I sold it to a mama who needed it more than I thought we did).

Dh wore dd in the Bjorn a lot when she was tiny. He really liked it, and would even insist on it. He did this when we were out and about til she was around four months, then just carried her in his arms; now, she loves to ride on his shoulders. He did use the sling at home ocasionally, too. I am rememering when she was a newborn, and we used one of tose awful "baby suv's"; she was SOOOO teeny in that thing! I got a sling when she was eight weeks and never looked back!

I posted other because while DH is more or less humoring me on the babywearing thing, he's said that he probably won't wear a sling, he'll just do like he did with his first dd and carry in-arms. He's got big, long, strong arms (a bit disproportionately long, in fact) that won't get tired. When babe is bigger we'll probably get him a backpack to carry w/ as well, he can carry anything on his back for hours on end. He's still not sold on my resistance to the stroller and baby buckets, though.
