What are you getting as far as clothing?

I'm not sure what I need to get...I had way too much clothes for my boys and I dont want to do that again...we needed 2 dressers lol.
Whats "standard" for the 0-3, 3-6, and 6-12 range? I want to wash everyother day...

I have a few things now...like
6 or so jammies
6 onesies in preemie
8 onesies in newborn
5 nb dresses
4 nb outfits (I know I need more)
lots of socks and hats
I only have a couple of things in the 3-6 month range,
4 prs jammies
4 outfits
4 onesies
2 shirts to go with her wool longies and soakers

We also had way too much clothing for our girls. And we lived in warm climates at the time and they went naked for the most part. So this time we went really light figuring if all else fails we take a dirty baby to target and pick some things out.
We have
2 fleece gowns
4 long sleeve shirts
6 gowns
We will be getting some socks and that is it. These are all 0-3. We also ec, so we won't be doing pants. And sorry, we also have homemade baby legs that my older girls use and we can probably put on the baby. We just really want to make sure we don't have an excess of baby clothes and so far, SO FAR, we have been lucky that no one has gotten us clothes. We told everyone not to since we need ec friendly clothes and most people don't get that

In preparation for my first, I bought at a garage sale a dozen long nighties. That would fit for the first couple of months. Thats' it. Most babies I meet are, imo, overdressed. They don't care what they wear- they just want to be comfortable. And warm.

My sister, who has a great stock pile of baby clothes, was the one who dressed her up in all sorts of cute things from her stash (which she shared with us), putting her in dresses and sweaters, etc. After she started doing more than just eating and sleeping, I became more interested in a wider variety of clothes for her.

But that is just me apparently. My sister thinks I am a werido.

We had a girl first time around, so everyone I know has decided we must need boy hand-me-downs - we're swimming in clothes . I'm a total minimalist. Because it will still be cold here in March, we'll use onsies and/or sleepers - I find 6 of each to be LOTS, but we cloth diaper so I'm doing laundry every couple of days anyhow. By the summer I expect this baby to live in dipes and onsies/T's, so I've made no efforts to accumulate bigger clothes. Also, it really depends what size your baby is born - I'll wait till summer to get winter gear for this one, so I know what size to get (I had DD totally outfitted for the first year, then she came out small and all my clothes were a season ahead, LOL...)

Us, too, thanks mostly to hand-me-downs. I'm actually taking an inventory this weekend to see exactly what we have, but I'm sure we have too much in the 0-3 month size! I actually requested "no 3 month clothes" for my baby shower, but apparently no one listened, because I came home with some cute outfits.

It's ok to me, though, since so much of it was hand-me-down. If I find I only use half of what we have, I'll pack up and pass along the rest.

I have a ton of onesies - 25 or so. I didn't cloth diaper my ds from the beginning so maybe I just had more blowouts than those who use cloth. But I found I really needed all those onesies!

Since this baby is being born in cooler weather I got about 5 pairs of simple elastic-waist pants to put over the onesies. I also have about 6 gowns, 10 sleepers...a few hats, about 8 pairs of socks. And about 8 outfits.

Luckily we have a good-sized dresser so I already have it stocked - 03 months in the top, 3-6 in the middle drawer and 6-9 month in the bottom drawer. Plus the nicer outfits hanging in the closet.

Sleepers, tons of sleepers. My first lived in them until he was about 3 months old.

I also like gowns for bedtime, they make any middle of the night diaper changes super easy.

Oh god, you can't ask me this question. I have so much stuff, that I literally need to sell about 1/2 of it (and that still leaves me with too much). I bought almost all new for this baby, thinking I was rid of all of DSs old stuff (I sold a bunch, but was missing a box). Well, a box appeared last weekend, and now I'm just swimming in clothes through 6mo. It's really obscene

What I "plan" on using (avoiding the excess of course) is:

0-3 months

5 gowns
12 footed sleepers
5 cute outfits (mostly knit, but some dressy)
12 pair socks (I actually have over 30 pair, someone slap me) :
4 pair mittens
16 onesies (see what I mean - too much, and that's the keep pile)
6 pair knit pants
4 pair baby legs
3 pair of cute, but worthless crib shoes
12 bibs

Newborn
5 onesies
5 lap t's (also good for 0-3m)
3 outfits
6 footed sleepers
4 pair knit pants
10 pair socks
-- I'll also be using the 0-3mo gowns and bibs
---- It's all open after that. I'm too scared to even sort the 3-6mo.

We have a gazillion clothes past 3 months because of our own girls + clothes my sister gave us, but we got rid of all 0-3 month clothes.

All I have is about 7 sleepers for size 0-3. That's probably all I'll get. I hate using onesies with cloth dipes so that means no 2 piece outfits. I only changed my DDs' clothes once or twice a day so I figure I can keep it simple. The only reason I changed more than once a day was usually when I leaked milk on them while nursing.

A lot of times onesies didn't even fit over cloth diapers just so you know. I don't really dress my kids in anything other then the footed jammies until after 3 months so thats about all I have. Seems they would be the most comfortable.

I found some that run really long, to give more room for CDs. SpaSilk I think is the brand? But I do plan on using gowns almost exclusively the first couple weeks. I will be recovering from a much unwanted c-section, so I'm trying to keep things as easy as possible.

I ordered those onesie snap extender thingies...I think they'll be perfect for using cloth under snap onesies and shirts.

Onesie snap extenders? Do tell! Where'd you find those?
