HELP!!! Clothes Moths!

I can't seem to get rid of these things!
I got some natural herbal repellent....no help
I got the traps with the sticky pad....still moths
I got the poison things that are a lot like urinal cakes....still eating my clothes!

This is a really big deal to me, as I have an extensive and valuable vintage clothing collection that I have put time and money into for fifteen years. I am desperate! When they are actually making the holes, you can't even see the little f#*@ers, and I think "maybe I conquered them!" And then sure enough, there are the flying ones to prove I have lost, and that silk dress from pre-civil war south that I was restoring now has moth holes!!!!!

Any suggestions?

The eggs can hide in the seams of clothing. You can't even see them. Try taking every silk/wool item you have and put it in a plastic bag in the deep freeze for a week. Repelants only realy work before you get moths. once you already have them it's too late. If the freezing dosn't work, try heat. If the fabric can take it try ironing it with as hot an iron as the fabric will stand (I know this isn't possible with everything) A hot dryer can also kill them but again not always sutible for the kind of fabrics you are dealing with.

You might need to pull out the big guns and use some kind of pestasside (I know not my first choice either) There is a natural pestasside made form crisanthimums but I'm not sure how safe it is for fabrics. It might stain.

As you go over each piece with heat or cold or whatever I would quarintine it for a while. I know sealing in plastic isn't good for long term storage but you might want to keep each piece sealed and seperated for about a month or so until you are sure they are bug free so you don't recontaminate a piece you've gotten clean.

Look at other places in your house that they might be living. They eat any animal baced fibers. I had a reoccuring infestation. It turned out they were living in cat hair in the air ducts of our house.

Good luck.
