I hope this hasn't been posted already...if it has, please disregard. As I was perusing Oprah's website for Mother's Day ideas, I came across this link. How fabulous it was to read about another empowering birth experience. I will be picking up O Magazine this month and thanking Oprah for sharing it with us.

she gave an interview shortly after her baby was born, and i got goose bumps reading her story. while i love birth stories, what i loved about hers wasnt the nitty gritty details (i like those too!), but her *feelings* emotionally about the whole birth. made me want to get pregnant!

Oh WOW! Thanks for posting that. I used to subscribe to O mag, but I have a whole year worth that I haven't read through at all. No time. Other magazines (Midwifery Today, Fit Pregnancy, Mothering - I'll read cover to cover.... Parents I skim) call my attention more than O.

I do think it's a very good mag, it's just not a priority right now.

I'll have to check her story out at the library.

What's weird about it is I read it in O a while ago already!! Are they publishing it again?? It was probably almost 2 years ago or less maybe. Hmm...

edited to add:
Yes, it says it was in the March 2001 issue. where did you see it was in the next one?

Is there somewhere I can go to read the whole article. That link only has a spoiler...

The story sounds like it truly is awe-some.

just have to say..... I think she was at the park today. I didn't say anything to her but I did want to talk about the article. Unfortunately, I haven't read the whole thing either...so I felt a bit weird. It was weird, I looked over and thought to myself, "That mom and her dauther are breathtakingly beautiful."

Sorry about that! I should have checked the date a little more closely.

Trabot: You are so lucky! I'm sure she was so beautiful in person, rather than the other way around as it is with most celebrities.
