Who's baby is head down????

Thread Starter
I had a MW appointment yesterday. It wasn't my normal MW because she is on vacation, but her fill in check the baby's position and its kinda sideways more headdown than up but not fully head down. This was my 32 week appointment, so I'm no to worried, but the MW said to start visualizing the baby head down. She said nothing to worry about this soon, and if she hasn't turned closer to the due date then my MW will give me exercises to do. Now I'm worry because why would she say the thing about visualizing if it's no big deal : . I'm trying to remeber and I think my other 3 had turned head down much sooner than this.
So Who here in the March thread have a head down Baby? My EDD is 3/9/07.

As of the week before last, mine was, but i'm feeling kicks a little more to the left then up so he or she may be a bit cock-eyed in there.

Babe is head down too, but posterior. Last baby was posterior and ended up with a c/s so while I'm not "worried" yet, I am certainly aware and doing things to encourage baby to rotate.

I am around 33wks, I think...I believe baby's been head down for quite a while though.

My baby is face down as of 30 weeks. He back is facing to the front and I feel his kicks almost squarely in the front. He must be kicking back because the Midwife felt his butt.

This is my first but I am guessing that he is sitting normal.

As of about a week ago this babe has been head down. I REALLY felt the move from transverse to head down. My u/s on Tuesday showed that he had indeed moved to head down.

Head down here- has been for ages. If I am willing to dig a little, I can find babe's little head just above my pubic bone with my fingertips. Feels like a tennis ball. When I wiggle it, I get kicked up by my ribs.

When I had my 20 week ultrasound done he was head down. Hopefully that hasn't changed!

I have no idea maybe my MW will be able to tell at our next appointment Tuesday.

As of my last two appointments baby was. I get kicked in weird positions though, and get a lot of movement on my cervix, so I think baby is still moving around a lot. Baby also switches from hanging out on my right side to posterior and back again. Ds was posterior and I really really don't want another labor and delivery like that. It was fast and furious. We keep getting placenta sounds on the leftish-front, so I think though that I may be wishing for something I'm not getting.

Gillian, does an anterior placenta make for a better chance you'll have a posterior positioned baby?

Angie- I saw your reply on my thread on the homebirth board, looks like we are in similar boats!! I can let you know how the chiropractor helps since I'm going on Wed.
My midwife also said not too worry yet cause there is still time, but I would much rather have this baby head down now. My last two were head down by now.
I'm doing my best to remind myself not to sit back!

I had bad back labor with my first, though he was positioned correctly and my placenta was in the back. This time around, my placenta is anterior. Lets hope I don't end up with a posterior babe! EEK!

Thanks for posting Savmay.

I've heard rumors that it does, but nothing for sure. I'm worried about it, since I have an anterior placenta.

As of my last mw appt., 10 days ago, babe was head-down. I felt him move the night before! It feels now that he's shifted a little, still head down but not quite in the position he was in before. He's all lined up on my right side, although I feel some punches (I think) in the bottom left quadrant.

Mine is head down and very low. Not sure if the baby is engaged but very very low. Its difficult to tell since its posterior.

And good news to those worried about posterior baby in labor. I carry all mine posterior and gave birth to all but one anterior. Sometimes it just depends on the shape of your pelvis. But they all turn in labor. Remember to remain upright and leaning over, pelvic tilts work geat. But before labor I don't think there is much to do to turn a posterior baby and keep them that way.

I think my baby moved head down finally last week. I was having terrible Sciatica before that as he was transverse (sideways) and diagonal for a long time. What my midwife recommended as sitting forward several times a day, sitting on a birthing ball, or getting down on hands/knees and doing pelvic tilts or the cat/cow pose a few times. Well, I did that and the night after doing the yoga, the baby moved and the hip pain was suddenly gone. Now I feel the kicks way up high - above my belly button, and yet not as hard as before so I think he's finally posterior, too. I would recommend those things and esp. getting down on all fours and shifting forward and back a few times each day until the baby changes positions. Their heads and backs are the heaviest so doing that should shift them to move with head down and backside toward your front. Visualizing may help, but probably doing activity to help move them works a little better, ya know? Best of luck!!

Baby A (the baby lower down) is head-down, and has been for a long time, but Baby B is higher up and seems to go back and forth between frank breech and transverse. I can feel him in there sometimes flopping around like a landed fish, and it feels like he's trying to turn, but he can't. I think Baby A's position is making it hard for him. Her feet are right in his face, and his butt is right in her face, so I imagine they get in each others' way a lot.

My baby's head was down at my appointment last week... I'm due the same day you are to, but I'm also carrying really low, so that is probably it's already wedged down there.

Last time I palpated (about a week ago), this baby was LOA--head down, his back to my front, a little to my left, and facing my right leg. I hope he stays that way! My neighbors seem to think I'm carrying low, although I know he's not engaged yet, he floats pretty easily and still moves around quite a bit. I don't think he has enough room now to turn all the way back around (could be wrong about that!), but he does get kind of cock-eyed diagonal from time to time. Kicks are almost entirely felt inwards, although sometimes he gets my lower ribs.
