I was looking at another thread here where a member asked for help locating a book she remembers from her childhood. Can a newbie poster ask for help too?

Fiona and the Flood?

I am looking for a book I remember my mama reading me when I was little. It was called (I'm fairly certain) Fiona and the Flood. It was about a lady who goes down a river in a boat during a flood (can't remember much of the story! ) and at the end of each page she'd say "Thank You Very Much." I just remember my mama always reading that line in a funny voice. I've looked on line for it before and can't find a single thing about it. I recall the pages being filled with different things to look at ... like odd things that were floating around in the flood. Okay, that's a really bad description of a book's plot ... but that's all that is stored in my memory after so long! I would LOVE it if someone could locate it, or let me know if I'm remembering the title wrong. It was a 70's book. My DH tried to find it for me too when I was pregnant, with no luck.

Thanks to anyone who takes a minute to try and help me. I think that's awesome you guys help out strangers with odd requests like that.

Don't know about Fiona, but I loved a similar book called "Millicent Maybe" Her house got totally full of clutter and then one day it all washed out in a flood and she went round and just picked what she liked *best*.

Alibris appears to be a no go on copies of the Fiona and the Flood book.
