I got my period back after ~15 months and got pregnant instantly!
With ds, 21 months. With dd1- 20 months. DD2 is 7 months old- so, maybe the same with her.

I got pregnant fairly quickly after I got it back.

You know, I knew AF meant period- but mever knew what the letter stood for- Aunt Flow. I dont use that term much cause my best friends name is Flo- and my kids refer to her as Aunt Flo! lol...

I was anovulatory for 6 months before my first cycle on clomid...Temping got very old.
my bff had ivf for both her kids ("male factor" issue), and she only weaned down to twice/day, not completely, before starting hormones (MD knew and accepted her choice). she got cycles starting ?4mos pp, but her ds1 slept like a rock, starting at 6weeks, so she'd go 7-10hrs without nursing while he slept (while my dd1 was waking and attached all. night. long).

to aswer the op: with dd1 i got AF with short cycles and with no fertile mucus at 21 mos. i got fertile mucus (inconsistently) after ?26mos but still had short cycles (normal to late ovulation day 14-16, then AF at day 21-25: short luteal phase, no time for zygote to implant). i started weaning to ttc, eventually down to 2-3 times/day (from 10-20), and got one 28 day cycle, then pregnant the next month.

dd1 nurses less (6-8/day now), and AF came back at 15mos (both times in march...something in the spring air?). she's turning 2 now, and i get inconsistent fertile mucus, and short cycles again.

DD1 was 2.5 years old when I induced AF back. TTC was very interesting, my cycle was all over the place, my LP was 5-7 days long. : I ended up working with an herbalist to get my cycle straightened out, I got pg with DD2 a month or so after DD1 turned 3. Bfing greatly affects my fertility.

Very interesting! Thank you all for the replies. I will most definitely check out the ttc while nursing group. We are not ttc, more ttoops at the moment.

I've been getting patches of fertile cm, and ovary pains but no AF in sight. DD still nurses at least once if not twice in the night and before and after each nap. If I didn't offer, she wouldn't do the after the nap nursing, but she doesn't take anything other than water from a cup and is on the whole very disinterested in food.

11 months with both boys. I was sure it would be longer with ds2, since with ds1, he was on solids and had had a 2 week nursing strike a few weeks before it came back. ds2 was still exclusively nursing and hadn't had any days where he wasn't nursing.

I got my first PPAF after Grace at 20 months, she started sleeping through the night.

I got my first PPAF after Lily at 16 months, not sure why, since she was nursing about 8 times a night.

I got my first PPAF after Felicity at 14 months, after she'd been hospitalized with a stomach bug and a kidney infection and she pretty much didn't nurse at all for 3 days.

It really is completely individual. I got mine back at 12 months with DD, I thought it might be longer this time because I'm nursing two, but I'm starting to show signs of ovulation, so I won' be surprised if Af returns soon now. DS is almost a year as well. My mom on the other hand went just over 9 yrs with no period, my sisters and I are all spaced between 2.5 and 3 yrs apart and she never got AF back between any of us.

dd1 - 7mo (high needs,no pacis, etc.)
dd2 - 6mo : (tandem nursing)

my best friend weaned around 10mo (and used bottles before that), and itwas another 5-6mo before af returned.
