I keep coming back to this thread and reading it. I can so relate. My oldest is now 13 and a half. He's 5'10" and 175 lbs....looks over my head when he talks to me just because he can

It seems that every day, I hug my 4 year old DS and remember what it was like to hold my DS1 the same way. Time does indeed move quickly. Someday, my 4 year old will be looking over my head.

Ya know, when you look at your kids when they are small and they are just so cute, so beautiful, it takes your breath away???? It does not go away when they get older, it just gets different. I look at my teen, with his bleached blond hair, his 3 ear piercings, his black and chain Goth wear and I think 'how did I give life to something so precious?" There is a beauty so intense about this time, it is hard to put it to words, but some of you know what I mean....

I will say, having my oldest be 9-11 years older than my other two, had made me slow down, and appreciate the time I have now with my little ones. My oldest has shown me just how fleeting time can be.

MY oldest is 10 & 12 years older than his younger siblings. It gives me a really unusual perspective, I think.

Im not even a mom-to-be yet and this thread made me cry!
...also, it explains why my mom tends to gaze at me from across the dinner table...
It's wonderful to hear how much you mamas love your kids, and makes me appreciate my mom just that much more.
