Dylan Kamanakai (Kai) arrived via VBAC on Friday, January 12th at 10:24 pm after 3 days of labour and three pushes. He weighed in at 9lbs, 1oz and 21inches, just beating out his big brother by 3oz. We are home now and happily nursing away.
I really wanted to thank you all for all the support over these past 40weeks (and especially those 3 days of labour!!!). I know that finding you little tribe of amazing women made this journey so much better.
And to my fellow "bead gals", I wanted to let you ladies know that one of the few things that helped me make it through that third, tremendously hard night of labour was sitting in the dark with my eyes closed with my bracelet in my hands feeling and visualizing each bead and counting "one momma, two mommas, three mommas", etc. It sounds totally hokey and silly now in the light of day, but in those late, sleepless, painfull and often scary hours it really kept me going to know that I wasn't alone in this, and the sense of combined strength all of you gave me in that little circle of beads made it worth it's weight in jewels. Thank you so very, very much. I was honored to have you all present at the beautiful birth of my beloved son.
