Any snow storm babies?

Well, the storm is officially hitting here! We are under an ice storm warning and they are forecasting 1/2 an inch of ice plus 3 to 6 inches of snow. I've told DH he can't go to work tomorrow if it is really as bad as they say. I have visions of being stuck at home with a 3 year old, losing power from the ice, in labor and no way to get to the hospital! : I've lost two big pieces of my mucus plug in the last 24 hours, so we are hopefully going pretty soon. Although I would like him to stay put until this storm passes (or at least until I know that I will have power and be able to get to the hospital). Are the rest of you hanging in there? Storm triggering labor? Lost power?

east coast here and our winter has been totally bogus this year!! like 2 inches of snow all winter - we were supposed to get some today but so far its just raining. my sil asked me the other day what we would do if the snow was so bad that the mw couldnt get here - my fiance does have a large 4wd truck, but if i were really in labor i would not want him leaving me to go get her (probably in bad weather it would take him close to 2 hrs to go get her and then get back here). luckily i would not have other children to tend to though!! actually on the boston subway system, which i never down, there is a stop about 2-3 blocks from her house and way on the other end (she would be safely underground) one of the last stops on the other side is about a half a mile from our apartment - so i guess that would have to do in an emergency (i could probably stand to let him go for a few mins to go fetch her if she were only a half mile away). although maybe this baby is just looking to come in on a bang - waiting for a big storm where she can come out and then we will always have a cool "UC in a big storm" story to tell!!

ha - wishful thinking

I managed to keep her in last snow storm, but we're getting another one tomorrow morning so maybe she will show up then!

Though if my kids are home for day 6 in a row tomorrow I am going to go :

It's snowing again, actually much more than we got with the official storm. My DH is working on a job site today well over an hour a way, on GOOD roads! The last time he was down there it took him 2+ hours to get home, just because it was rush hour. No concern for the weather. I am more than a little irritated that he didn't decline this assignment. He will be there tomorrow too. He said, "Just call me as soon as you *think* you might be in labor). If worst comes to worst, I'll just meet you at the hospital." Umm, yeah, and how I am getting there? Would I drive myself? Luckily all the schools are closed, so MIL is home from work and lives nearby. I'm just annoyed that this seemed logical to my DH. I've lost my mucus plug and had off and on prodromal labor for two days now. I'm due tomorrow. It seems unwise to be over two hours away! Men...

Had enough labor last night to get very little sleep and actually call my midwife with double-peaking 4 minute apart contractions, but no baby. Also apparently very little new snow, but school is closed anyway. Again.

This is pretty much my nightmare scenario.

Luckily DH took one look at me this morning and decided that going to work is not a good plan. He's probably right, but he is also still in bed despite having only been up an hour of all the hours I was. :

I refuse to deal with anyone today, at all.

We got an ice storm over the weekend, schools/colleges are closed, and all but the main emergency route roads are very trecherous. I had to cancel my 39week prenatal appt for this afternoon, because I can't even get from my door to the van without taking a major risk of falling. It's sooo cold and cloudy that the situation doesn't look like it's going to improve anytime soon either, and we have a chance for more icky weather this coming weekend.

Guess that's one bad thing about being due this time of year.

Well, this rare and unusual pacific northwest snowstorm is so exciting, my dp just took a taped up laundry basket full of our 53 pound ds for a sled ride to a coffee shop. I'm so jealous!!!! I want to traipse around in the white world! I don't think my pubic bones do, but my little inner kid sure does! Prodromal labor galore, I doubt my midwives could make it here if things decided to take a turn for the exciting, but right now, I'm warm and the window views are delicious. I love the rare snowfall.

We were supposed to get more snow last night, but luckily the forecasters were wrong. Official EDD is tomorrow and I have lots to do... but I'm very impatient for baby to get here after logging on this morning to SOOOO many baby announcements!

Hope you’re doing all right, storychick

I hear ya, Rachael, about wanting to play in the snow!
