Center slit pockets?

Are center slit pockets "legal"? I have some material that would make really nice pockets, but I don't want to infringe on the patent... I've seen these center slit pockets though and think they wouldn't be too hard to make, and if they keep things legal then all the better
Can anyone give me some advice? I'm just looking to use up some fabrics I got at a really good deal, to sell locally to people I know and on craigslist.

I think they're. I think the patent limits to back opening pockets

The patent is for a front-closing diaper with a waterproof outer, stay-dry fabric inner, and a back pocket opening, with elastic at the legs and back waist.

Actually, it's a "leading edge" opening, so you are fine with a center slit, but nothing on the edge, whether it's front, back or side.

Yup, "leading edge" is the key - just put your opening anywhere but on an edge and you're OK. I also think it's OK to sew for yourself, just not to sell, but I may be wrong about that...
