large Fishy pool blow up question...

I'm going to have DH buy a shop vac to blow up the pool ( I believe they come with attachments... you think that would work?...

I would like to know before I pop and don't feel like running around town searching for the right pump.

We have a Sevylor inflatable pool (similar to fishy one) and are using an electric pump made for blowing up air beds. It works well & it was cheap

I have no idea if that would work. We also have an electric pump (bought from in the camping supplies) that works quite well.

ya - my fiance got a black and decker electric one from home depot and i cant imagine he paid much more than $30 for it (he is rather cheap ). I did have to attach a piece of tape to the nozzle to make sure it didnt slip out when i wasnt watching, but other than that it worked fine (its a little loud). It also came with car lighter attachments which i thought would be nice for camping or emergency tire inflations in the car.

A shop-vac sounds expensive. You can get an electric air pump in the sporting goods section of Walmart or Target for $15-20.

I think the shop vac is around 30-40 but at least I'll use it after for other stuff Thanks for the idea's I think I'll trial run it and if it doesn't work send DH out to get something else ( DH hasn't done much so far so I'm kinda like making him go get supplies : )

Can we use our air compressor (the big ones with the metal tank)? It's a bit more high-tech and powerful than the little camp pumps or shop vac. (and, I love it b/c DH uses it to dust, clean the porch, etc. - who knew he just needed the right tools to motivate some cleaning?)

We tried the hair dryer. Didn't work.

We found a pump in the pool section once that blows up when you pump up and down. So it blows it up super quick!

That sucks, our fishy pool had a big opening as well as the smaller ones.

I'm all for buying the intex pump!

That mofo pumped ours up (All the rings and the bottom.) in about 5 mins, and deflation took about as much time with it being SO deflated it looked nearly factory and went back easily into the original box.

Our practice run went GREAT!

I used the manual pump for the air mattress. Blew it up ahead of time

Also, we got a manual siphon for emptying it. Got it at the hardware store, they're sold for transferring fuel/kerosene.

Good luck

Buy an electric pump!!! We did a practice blow up to make sure our fishy pool didn't have any holes and we used a foot pump for a birth ball, I REALLY don't reccomend it. It took about 45 mins.

Don't forget to do a test-run once you have it inflated. It really pays to do a test-run.
