i had a csection with my son - water broke, 12 hours later (with pitocin) i was only dialated 1.5 cm and infection was setting into my uterus. has anyone out there had a vbac with baby #2 after a similar experience with baby #1? not pregnant with #2 yet, but i already know that i want to research vbac options.

I have not myself had this experience, but I certainly have heard many many stories of successful vaginal births after a c/s for failed induction. If you are looking for inspiring stories, I would check out International Cesarean Awareness Network, or Birthlove.com or www.plus-size-pregnancy.org. THere are many stories of VBAC there.

It is typical for a hospital to induce and "start the clock" after PROM. Unfortunately, your body may not have been ready to start labor, much less produce a baby. I know of women who have gone 9 days, or even 21 days from PROM to baby. Of course, these women carfully monitored for infection, and kept everything out of their vaginas- no internals!

Next time will have its own unique rythym to it. Your bag of waters might even be intact at birth! Perhaps you will take vitamin C during pregnancy to help keep the bag strong, and find a care provider who will wait patiently after a PROM for your body to start labor on its own.

Your body is made to birth. It is not broken. I know you can birth vaginally, and I dearly hope you find the information, support and strength you need to do it.

Blessings
Jaya
