Velour from JoAnn Fabrics?

Does JoAnn have velour fabric (or sherpa, for that matter)? ANyone ever used it? Comments about it? I just want a few yards, a few different colors, but something that's at least 80% cotton. Any input here?

Thanks!

I just boughtsome 80/20 velour from JoAnn's tonight for $3/yd. They didn't have much to choose from. I didn't see any sherpa, although, we have a tiny, tiny store .

The velour is nice, a lot of people use it for diapers. I haven't found sherpa at JoAnn's though.

I've seen velour, but the only sherpa I've seen is the 100% poly kind (basically like textured fleece).

I think I'll go to JoAnn tomorrow and check out what they have. I made some velour wipes that I love.
My fav velour in diapers, however, is a small bit of organic cotton velour I bought in a co-op a few years ago and seriously wishing I had gotten more of it!

Love Joann's 80% cotton velour. It works as well as anything I have bought on-line. My only complaint is that I can't find many nice colors at our store. Never seen cotton sherpa!

Disappointed with my local JoAnn store. They didn't seem to have ANY velour at all except super expensive ($20/yd) stuff or 100% poly "crushed velvet". Bummer! :

Just keep an eye when you buy it. Joannes has 80/20, 100% cotton, 100% poly and a few other blends. One time I forgot to check and ended up with the wrong stuff. The colors are limited but sometimes you get lucky. Use your coupon and you can save a lot of money.

If you got the 100% poly kind, would it work for a wicking layer?? Just curious... I don't really know what makes some fabrics wick and some not, I just know that fleece and suedecloth do.

I'd guess the 100% poly velvet would work as a wicking layer. It was certainly soft and velvety. I don't like the poly fleece/microfleece wicking layers in any diapers I've ever used, though, I like just cotton best.

I have used it. It doesn't wick very much so your baby's butt would feel wet with the 100% poly but it doesn't seem to repel out the legs.

Good to know, thanks! I pretty much HAVE to use some sort of wicking layer in order to keep DS rash-free... he has pretty sensitive skin I guess. He had a yeast rash for like 3 months, and now that it's finally cleared up I'm trying not to have it come back
