i got a trial issue and LOVE IT. it's seriously the next best thing to Mothering magazine, or SEEMED to be ... HOWEVER ~ i'm still torn on whether to get a full subscription or not....

have you read this magazine regularly?
is it worth the subscription price??

I think its put out by disney - which I choose not to support. But i have looked through the family fun magazines (also disney) at the library and if tis anything like them, i will say there aer a lot of really good ideas for fun things to do with the kids - too many adas though for my tatse.

My doctor's office gets that magazine. And while there are some interesting articles and most of the viewpoints are on par with mine, I cant quite bring myself to really like it. For one, the disney thing kinda bugs me, for two, there are far too many ads for crap you dont need and formula, etc. I think it would be fun to flip through now and again, but not worth the money IMO.

Are you sure it's put out by Disney? I didn't get that from anywhere in the magazine.

I'm enjoying it so far -- I don't read any other parenting magazines and this one's focus really seems to be about enjoying your children, which I think is a worthwhile message.

this is one parenting mag I like! And subs are pretty cheap b/c it's new (or at least they were cheap last year). It's more artsy/reflective than informative. I enjoyed it when I read it this summer...... I normally despise anything but mothering.

I also found Natural Jewish Family (or something similar) magazine, and it's super cool! Just like mothering but w/ a Jewish twist. I'm not Jewish at all, but loved the info. I skimmed it at the bookstore b/c they don't sell mothering--a big section on doulas! Very cool.

Anyway, my two cents!

I like the magazine, just ordered a gift subscription for my SIL for the holidays. Yes, it is more mainstream than Mothering, I just take what I like from it & ignore the rest (ads, etc.) If you're not too sure about spendeing the money on a subscription why don't you see if you can get it from the library? A lot of Children's Rooms have great periodical sections.

I love this magazine too and it is still cheap! It's not as good as Mothering but hey...
GREAT activities for kids!!

My kitchen looked like a disaster zone the day we made "slime" out of cornstarch and water. :

I just read this magazine for the first time while I was at a doc's appointment for dd yesterday.

I really enjoyed it...and I would seriously consider getting a subscription...

I just won a free 6-month subscription to it from Disney, so, yup, it's definitely a Disney publication. Haven't received my first issue yet though.

Wonder Time

Well I really like the magazine, too. And I also did not see any formula ads.
