Elastic- do you sew it in or do a casing?

I've always just sewn down the ends of my elastic and then sewn a casing around it... I HATE sewing the elastic in (don't know why, just don't like doing it). IMO, the casing works well, and I know that if the elastic gives out, there's less work to fix it, b/c I'll only have to pick out the ends where I sew them down.
What do you all do? Are there advantages to actually sewing it in?

I've done both casing and sewing down. I also prefer casing for the same reasons. Though I've yet to have to replace any of my elastic, I know it will be easy to do so if I need to.

I sew all of my down. I haven't had to replace any elastic so far, and we're nearing 7 yrs. straight of diapers.

I sew mine down. I think I sew it down mostly because I an a sewing control freak, and I like to make sure stuff stays where it is suppose to. I also think it makes prettier gathers. And my fitteds are serged with hidden elastic, so sewing down the elastic is the easiest for that style.

In diapers, I use a 3-step zigzag stitch and sew it in. I've never actually had my own elastic give out (lastin) so haven't dealt with the hassle of replacing it.

I sew it down. I hate sewing casings and find that it keeps my outers from rolling in on my pockets so then I get more poop leaks. I also think it looks more girly and I have a boy.
