Good Job Mama!

This cracks me up. DS1 has started saying "good job mama" after I go to the bathroom.

I don't think I ever say good job to him - he gets this from his dad.

My four yr. old tells me "Good Job" for any number of things ("Good Job with dinner mommy!""I like how you brush your hair---you're doing a good job!" )...and I don't think I've ever said Good Job to anyone

I have read the reasons why I shouldnt say 'good job' to my son, but like someone said on another thread, I wish someone would say good job to me more often!

That's adorable

I love seeing my parenting come back at me. I don't use "good job" very often, but like a PP said, it is nice to hear it. I get compliments like, "Mommy, you nursed the baby until she fell asleep! You did great!" and "Oooh, you put your shoes on! With no help! Good for you!"

I love it when children have pride in our accomplishments. My neighbor's grandson announced to a full restaurant, "My nana pooped in the potty!!"

It is not everyday that we are recognized for small feats.

It made me laugh too! I was just thinking of posting some of the positive sides - things my girls say that just really keep me laughing! I love being able to vent here sometimes but it helps to see some of the good times to keep things in perspective.

My 3 yr. old does the same about the potty, only she announces, "mommy's ' coming such a big girl!" or "I so proud [I]at[I] you!" with it. Her other favorite is "hunny" - she addresses everyone as hunny. Her sister, who is now 8, used to crack me up with "Baby, what ooo do?" as she ran to people to inspect and "nurse" them everytime someone would act as they had gotten hurt - she was barely 2 then.

I love when that happens and it is adorable when it comes from such little people - makes you realize how much they truly do observe and absorb, huh.

My ds started saying good job, also. Or, good throw, all kinds of "goods". Its the sweetest thing. He must of picked it up from the stupid TV, we don't tell him good job.

Does anyone feel like their dc want a "good job" in return?
