Well, Trish, with my 2nd babe, I popped out so fast. I looked about 5 months when I was only about 8 weeks. They say that you show faster with your second, since everything is already stretched from your first, and that you tend to feel movement earlier, since you know what it feels like from the first time. A lot of first time moms mistake early movement for gas, and don't clue in that it's the baby until later on. The second time around, I felt my little bean moving about a month earlier than with my ds.

But, you've got a lot of symptoms of twins, so maybe!! From your signature, I take it you're doing a surrogacy? (That's so cool.) What do your intended parents think about twins?

I know, I keep telling myself that every pregnancy is different and maybe I'm just associating all these things with twins because for some reason I really think it is twins. I don't know why, but something in my brain keeps saying "twins, TWINS!" Both the father and I have a family history of twins and of course it should be our 'turn' for them since no one else in our generation has had them yet.

I probably would chalk it up to just over reacting and making a big deal out of nothing, but then I keep feeling the two different movements. They're starting to become more frequent, but still consistent in their placement. They're far enough apart that I know it can't be one baby doing it, or else I'm a lot farther than I thought! I felt dd pretty early for a first timer-14 weeks, so I figured I'd feel this one sooner. I guess I just have to wait, too bad I'm one of the most impatient people on earth!

**Yes, I am a TS, but before we did contracts (and thus insems) my boyfriend and I had a 'contraception malfunction' and now here we are. We're still going ahead and treating this like a surrogacy only with "donor" sperm, when its actually a private adoption. My IPs are thrilled either way about having a baby so maybe this all happened for a reason. I haven't told my IPs my twin suspicions just because I don't want to say anything then have it turn out that I'm wrong. When we first started talking my IM said they would love if they were blessed with twins so I don't want to get them hoping for it, too. I'd rather just suprise them with the news.

Maybe its karma biting me in the rear. When I first started seriously thinking about surrogacy I told my BF that I would love to have surro-twins, because then I get to have the fun twin pregnancy but not have to take care of two babies at once (I don't know why I'd think it be fun but I've always wanted to carry twins!) Way to go for opening my big mouth!

Well, I don't know if it's twins or what, but I'm 11 weeks and my fundal height is only four fingertips (4cm?) below my belly button. And I'm definitely feeling movement, like wiggly worms whenever I'm still and think about it. Also the left side of my uterus is more pronounced, like more forward. I don't know if my uterus is just off to the side, or if there's a baby towards the top left and one towards the back right? It's not my bladder, because I had just peed. We'll just have to wait and see. I did have a huge 9 pound baby the first time, so I know I could just be really stretched out...

Mine did that too, for a while! The left side would stick out more than the right. So weird! But it's evened out now.

Hey all! How is everyone doing? I just got back from a trip that dh did all the driving....and as he said.... I "slept for three" meaning I was mostly unconscious the whole time in the car LOL

How am I? Trying not to obsess so much about food. I'm really really struggling to get all of the recommended protein. And I'm slowly weaning my 17mo old DS. Totally wanted to CLW, but I'm not gaining any weight and he's stealing all of the calories I'm working so hard to get in!

Other than that, I'm now into some maternity clothes. My friend returned my clothes last week, and she put some of her stuff in there too, so at least I get some "new" clothes for a 3rd pregnancy LOL.

In Asia, it's typical to have a maid/nanny. We had a part-time maid for 5 years and fired her in December, before finding out we had twins. Tomorrow I have a trial run day with a maid to see if we want to hire her for FULL TIME!!!! I am so excited... it's so hard to get the rest I need with 2 toddlers running around. I'm so thankful because we only have to pay $250 a mo for full time... can you imagine what it'd cost in the USA?!?!

CrunchyClark, could you put a "sticky" at the top of this post listing all of the twin moms, "hopeful" due dates, etc.? Our August 2007 DDC is so big, that I'd rather just stick to this one for the most part because I don't have time to wade through the rest of it.

"New to you" clothes are always fun I've always been told to accept ALL donations of maternity clothes even if they aren't your style....you could wear around the house at least and have some 'extras' just in case

Here is my recent u/s. The doc just did a quickly to check for heartbeats. So, he didn't set up the screen or do any measuring. The babes weren't being cooperative either. So the only double shot we got was the tops of their heads. But you can see the perfect little round noggins in the u/s

So twin mamas, are you planning on finding out the sex? We've never found out before with mine or the surrogacy. I've been reading back and forth and some say you really should with twins because you can begin to differentiate them as individuals rather than just 'the twins'. But then others say it doesn't really matter. What are your thoughts?

I'm due Aug. 3rd.

We were not going to find out the sex when we thought it was just one. We really enjoyed not knowing with our first. But this time around, I'm in a tiny apartment, only so much room for baby clothes, and I want to know what to put into storage. Another reason? I think it'll be much easier of a transition for my DD who'll be almost 4 when they're born. For her to know what they'll be and for me to talk it over with her has gotta help.

We are going to find out too, if they aren't too bashful. My 4.5 yo DD is the same way. She has it in her mind the babies are girls. I want her to know what they are so she isn't too disappointed (if there is a reason to be disappointed) when the babies do come.

And well.... I have never been able to wait to find out before. So, I need to know too

I had my first prenatal. I forget if I posted that already LOL But, got another peek at the babies because he couldn't grab both hb's. They both are doing great. My husband has given me the nickname of "The Unconscious Gestator" though because I'm ALLLLWAYS sleeping! I just can't seem to get enough. I hope I 'grow out' of this during the second tri. I have thinigs I need to get done! LOL

I am a mom of 7 who is due with twins on Aug. 7th
My best friend kept saying on each one of my preg. that I was having twins but this time she was right
My brother and sister are twins (natural) and mine are (natural)
I had a big feeling that this one was twins because with all my others I was not that sick and did great with Pregnancy. With this one I was sick all the time and was not doing that great.
On my first visit to my midwife I told him that this one was so so different and he first asked me if this was a different father than the other kids and I told him no, same dad with all kids. I then brought up twins and he asked me if twins run in the Family, I said yes. They have a U/S right in there office so we went into the room that had the U/S and he said "how did you know?"
He then brought in a Doc. because he thought he saw 3 for a second and the Doc. came in and was looking and started saying 1-2-3-4-5
I said "WHAT"
He was just kidding but have me quite the scare, there was just 2 of them and they said they have not seen a set of natural twins in a long time.

Not a cold November here... more like a "quick, the kids are playing quiet in the other room, so let's BD on the sofa" : And look where that got us

My 16 week appointment was yesterday. I cancelled it. I don't want an unnecessary U/S. I'm feeling a tiny bit of movement, on my left side and down low. Trying to stay calm, visualize the birth I want, and ignore the negativity I run into everywhere!

Awesome on the movement I've thought maybe....but then again I think it's too early! LOL So maybe not!!

I ran into a mom today at the store who had her 1 yo twins in the shopping cart. She uses the same OB I do and said he was fabulous for her. She had a natural vaginal birth at almost 37 weeks with just shy of an hour between deliveries of babies and she said he is the only one who would wait that long. Anyone else in town 'cuts' after about 20 mins max of no second baby. So, I'm happy to get such a good endorsement from her about my OB choice! Now, visualizing head down!!!!!

Wow, that's awesome! I have a feeling I'll be fighting it the whole way. I really really really want a UC, but there are so many variables. Like getting to full term.

Here's the deal with my OB. Dr. S (my OB) has been in practice for over 30 years. He's a native to this country but was trained in the US and worked for the Army (or was it AirForce) for 15 years. So he absolutely understands my culture, English, etc. When Dr. S returned here, Dr. T (also native, but UK trained and married a UK woman) was just founding the natural birth suite with emphasis on waterbirth. The only hospital in the country to offer it. He trained Dr S, who has now taken over the "natural birth" stuff at this hospital because Dr. T. is mostly retired and lives here 6mo and UK 6mo. It seems that in the last couple years, Dr. S is getting more scared of litigation. His C/S rate is up, yet he's the ONLY doc here in the country (other than rural areas w/little to no hospital) that has experience with breech birth. Dr. T is mostly retired though he did say that if he happened to be here in July/August, he'd attend me.

Here's where it gets sticky. Even if I do birth there with Dr. S, who's to say he won't be hands on instead of "hands off the breech". Allow me to waterbirth twins? Probably not. He's probably "let" me "try for vaginal" if both are head down and maybe if babyB is breech. Both breech? Forget it. I've been reading up on the risks and trying to decide if breech/breech is something I'm willing to UC for.

My Aussie midwife (CNM) will be here in July but would only attend me if both are head down. And she's be willing to go with me to the hospital if she won't attend at home. No other midwives available. It is so CRAZY!!! What to do!!?!?!? It seems that both options are about the same. I really want to stay home.

I'm so glad that I'm 16 weeks and have time to decide. I did locate a chiropracter who has experience turning breech babies, so at least I have that option. I can't believe I'm even obsessing about breech, considering I know of ZERO twins that haven't been born by C/S, let alone any breech that I know of not by C/S.
