Thanks!
It really was a fabulous journey both times and a wonderful thing
I'm very proud to have done it twice!
I'm sorry clancy! My OB was totally fine with me going as long as I wanted to. I would have continued to go past where I did if it wasn't for the fear of a c-section with the section happy doctors on call. I was having BPP/NSTs but they were all totally fine and reassuring. Once I started dialating and was past a 4, I knew that an induction should be pretty easy as I'd had one before. I felt like having the induction was worth it to be pretty sure I'd avoid a c-section. Having to do it again, I don't know if I'd pick induction again...but what are the chances I'll carry twins again...not likely! LOL
I never had to see a peri or 'specialist' while I was pregnant with the twins. We don't have one here as it's a small town, and my OBs take on it was that I wasn't high risk until something happened to show him that I was. That never happened....so I wasn't seen as a high risk case.
My OB said he would only get concerned if I went over 40 weeks. And I don't think this was just because of twins. In none of my previous pregnancies have I gone post-dates and I think he just thought that I really shouldn't with two since I hadn't before and also since the babies were getting so big and really I wanted a vaginal birth!
I too think that if the placenta wasn't functioning, labor would begin, however, does it work that way with two when one is still functioning? I don't know!
I think if you're still comfy carrying them and all looks reassuring on the NST/BPP's....why push delivery?? If it were me, I'd go with the BPP/NSTs for reassurance that everything is okay and just keep on trucking! They can't stay in forever
And more than likely, they'll be here within a week or two
