Update on Savannah

Since all of you have been so supportive I thought I would share a little on Savannah. She was placed for adoption April 7, 2006, unfortunatly the adoption is not final yet b/c her bfather is a jerk and is stalling. Anyway...she is doing way better than anyone could have hoped. She loved it there and she loves her new family.
I have talked to her on the phone about 3 or 4 times and it has been great. Teh first tiem was for about 40 mns!!! I talked to her at Christmas and Thanksgiving. My mom has also talked to her and is planning a trip out to see her in late April.
I have not decided or really talked about when would be good for me to come out. Since she has been there she has had corrective surgery on her feet, casting, PT, and learning to walk again. They had snow, she goes to church and loves it, she sang beautifully for Christmas, She is in preschool and loves that. I could not have asked for a better family or situation than this one.
Her birthday is soon and I cannot believe she is going to be 4 already...where does the time go? and we are also coming up on her being with them for a year...who knows what that day will bring. I love her and her family, I have done as well as she has and I think it is b/c she is doing so well.

Thank you all again for all of your support, adoption has been the best for us and anyone looking into it...i wish you the best!

Thank you for the update. I do think about you and Savannah often. It's great to hear how well you both are doing. Adoption was also the best choice for my daughter and I know how great it is to see your child thriving in their new home. Never an easy choice to make, but it sure can be for the best sometimes. Love to you both.

Thank you for the update, and so glad to hear things are going well. I hope for everyone's sake that her birthfather can do what it takes soon to give her the permanency she deserves, after all everyone has been through.

I have recently come across your story, and I just wanted to tell you how much I admire you. Your daughter will always know how much she was loved by you.

I'm so glad that things are going well. I hope the adoption can be finalized soon for Savannah's sake. Does her birthfather have any real reasons for stalling? Does he not want her adopted?

Thanks for the update, I am so glad that it is working out for everyone involved (save biofather) Its wonderful to hear how well she is adjusting (and you too!) and it must make you feel good to have found such neat adoptive parents.

How is your personal life going were you talking about going back to school (I forget) I think there are so many mamas here who think about you both often, I hope that you are going to be a big success in your life. Please keep us posted!
