crock pot lard

I'm picking up some pork fat from WF hopefully tomorrow. They don't have Full Moon Feast at my library. Could someone please post or PM me the directions for making lard in the crock pot?

I don't have the book, but basically, you cut up the fat into small pieces and stick it in your crockpot. You can put it on low anywhere from 8 hours to 24 hours depending on how much you have and how big your crockpot is. Basically, most of the fat should melt and you end up with little pieces of fat solids that you strain out. You then pour the hot fat into jars and store in the fridge. Oh, and fat rendering doesn't smell all that great. You may want to stick your crockpot in a garage or basement.

Is there a particular temperature range I need to stay within?

I don't believe so, although since you're rendering in a crockpot without water, I would go with the setting on low. Traditional methods are cook on gas stove with water or render in the oven. I believe the crockpot low setting is right around 200 degrees F (high is right around 300 degrees) and probably fluctuates by up to 25 degrees depending on manufacturer.
