Anyone get AIM to pay for hb midwife?

I live in Southern California and I probably qualify for AIM (Access for infants and mothers) it is like medi-cal for slightly higher incomes. I am 12 weeks pg with a surprise. We do not have any money to pay out of pocket for a hb. They run about 3500-4000 around here. A few midwives I have spoke to will do a reduced rate of 2000 in payments if I had medi-cal. I had a hb with my 2nd baby and a hospital birth with my first. Last birth we put the hb on a credit card but that is not an option this time around Anybody out there been through this? Thanks, Crystal

Hi....
I am a HB midwife and I have been unable to get AIM to reimburse me for births.

Thank you Carla, I spoke to one midwife down here who had a client get them to cover the hb midwife after daily phone calls for about a month. She ended up having a c-sec in hospital so we all don't know if it really would have worked out that they would reinburse. The woman told the midwife I could call her and she would tell me how she did it. I called a week ago and haven't heard back yet. I am going to call her again. Oh well, I guess I will consider a UC.
