Breastfeeding while Pregnant

I am currently 12 weeks pregnant and still nursing my almost 10 month old DD. She is not nursing as much as she used too, I think partly due to eating solids now, but I also "feel" like my supply has dropped. I want to nurse her at least a year and hopefully longer. Anyone have any experience nursing an infant throughout their entire pregnancy?

For what it is worth, I got pg when dd#1 was 6 months old...she then self-weaned, much to my dismay, at 10 months!!! I hear that breast milk starts tasting different at about 5 months so maybe that was it...but because I was back to work ft and doing my Masters she was drinking pumped milk from a bottle a lot...so maybe she was nipple confused...

Whatever it was, it was too soon for me...

I am now nursing through a pregnancy for the third time. Nurse as long as you want. It can be challenging sometimes, especially during the sore times, but if you want to do it you certainly can. As for the milk drying, it can and at least lowers. But babies don't just nurse for the milk. They also nurse for the comfort of it. My dds were always eager to continue nursing no matter what.

I got pregnant with dd when ds was 7 months old, I nursed him until 12 months when he weaned. I think my supply dropped some, but he definitely got enough.

I am also pregnant and have always eaten oatmeal, is anyone aware if you can drink the "Mother's Milk" herbal tea while pregnant?

I couldn't find any contraindications in my "Nursing Mother's Herbal".

I am nursing and 37 1/2 weeks pregnant, but DS was a little older when I got pregnant - between 18 and 19 months. My milk dried up too, between about 12 and maybe 17 weeks, then after that I got colostrum. Nothing I did helped my supply in the long run, there was one point where it was better as long as I drank a ton of water, but as the pregnancy progressed, it continued to diminsh further.

Every mom has different experiences though, and just to tell you, my son still nurses 1-2 times per day, enough to not forget how. I am excited to find out what he will think once I have milk again! Which hopefully will be no more than a few weeks from now!

It definitely does not hurt for her to keep nursing if she wants to!
