An LC told me that my baby couldn't spread thrush to another baby through sharing toys. Yet I've read that you should fequently clean toys, pacies, bottles nipples, etc to avoid reinfection. If this is true, then why wouldn't it also be true that babies can pass infection to one another? I do not want to spread this discomfort to anyone!

You are right. Your LC is wrong. Almost to the point of it being scary.
However, theoretically whatever you are doing to avoid re-infection should protect anyone else.
If you want detailed info on thrush and prevention try Kellymom.com and do an advanced search on the BF'ing boards. You'll find tons of info.
